Watching you work on your projects is so calming and relaxing. Using a straight razor is a skill most men don't have now. I like that you replaced the broken handle with recycled walnut rather than the original ivory or bone. Congratulations.

Another languid view of a whole process, start to finish, through your masterful eyes. I treat myself to one of your video gifts each day. I too know the pleasure of a straight razor shave, free from disposable plastic. I appreciate the slower process, from the occasional hone and regular skilful strop, to the mindful short strokes across one’s face. I liked the sneak peep at the start of your vintage wristwatch. Using and restoring vintage hand tools is my main ancient love, but I’ve a treasured collection of vintage mechanical watches, pocket watches and antique clocks. Watch repair needs specialty tools that are beyond my workshop, but restoring an antique clock movement is very achievable - with your skills, if you’ve never tried, I recommend the pleasure of bringing the living tick-tock back to a handsome antique clock!

I've been given my great great grandfather's razor. It has thin ivory scales still intact. If I want to take it apart to clean it up and put it back together how should I delicately grind away the pin heads so I don't crack the thin ivory?

Hi, ich mag deine Videos :) auch mit einfachen Werkzeugen machst du wunderschöne Restorationen, ich denke du und meine Mechaniker kommt aus dem selben Land ( Türkei) ein Abonnement von mir, weiter so.

Kelimelerle aram pek iyi değil ama hislerimi kendi dilimde ifade edecek olursam: Eski ekol (old school styla:)) işçiliğiniz, kullandığınız aletleri konuşturmanız ve adeta "Ağaca fısıldayan adam" ustalığınız takdire şayan. E ustura ile traş da olabiliyorsunuz ki o bile benim için ayrı bir yetenek :)

Картинка - блеск, очень подробно показаны этапы работы, глаз радуется. Но. Меня всего передергивает, всякий раз, когда мастер на видео кладет рубанок всей подошвой на стол. А еще завинчивать пизетный шуруп пиашной отверткой тоже тот еще прикол.

Работа выполнена отлично но закручивать саморезы PZ отверткой PH это маветон))))

Der Rücken des Rasiermessers liegt beim schleifen immer auf. Dadurch garantierst du den richtigen Winkel. Belgier besser mit Wasser, bei Öl neigen sie dazu zu verstopfen. Macht allerdings dann auch einen wesentliche geringeren Abtrag. Und die Restauration ist jenseits von Sachverstand. Aber auf jeden Fall schöne Bilder für RU-vid.
