Great video brother. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise. I am going back and watching all of your old videos and making sure I am hitting the like button. Thank you again
That's a really nice job on the repairs. I have a 1915 Wizard that I had to resolder the lift bracket and tried to keep most of the original black finish. The thing I like best about the Wizard over the D-lite is the rising cone burner and this is one of the few lanterns I have that the crosswire guards clip over the loc nob ears perfectly. Thank you
Thanks so much I actually forgot to mention it in the video but after I completed the crown repair and fired up the lantern the bottom solder on the lift bracket popped off and I was trying to solder it then the top solder also came off so I had to clean both the lantern and the bracket tabs really well and hold it with a small C clamp and solder that back in place too 😂 but it’s all good now 👍
Wow a fantastic job on restoring the Dietz Wizard lantern & that lantern looks great too there Ken! 👍👍 Yes getting excited to light my Embury traffic gard lantern as soon the parts come in from W.T. kirkman lanterns & it’s lantern time! 🙂👍
Great job Ken! I'm curious about the overlap between the D Lite and the Wizzard and what the differences were. It's interesting that they ran them so long with more or less the same specs especially into the 20's and 30's since they seemed to have started making efforts to do away with duplicates 20-30 years prior.
Thanks and yes they are pretty much very similar overall to each other I don’t know really what the whole story was why the 2 models were produced at almost the same time.
Lovely lantern. Ive watched a few of your videos now and you seem to really put your heart into these. Ive a bluegrass belknap air pilot im working on that has no fuel cap. Any idea where i might find one? The opening is 13/16". Think one from a d in etz would fit? Idk who made it for bluegrass belknap hardware co.,but i doubt theyd manufactured it themselves. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much for your kind comments and I do believe that your bluegrass lantern is one made by Embury lantern company and maybe could get a cap from WT Kirkman at lanternnet.com but you might have to call them because they sell a lot of different sizes.
@@lotsatrains I appreciate that. I'd bought this one at an estate sale some time back and originally it was just gonna hang for decoration, but I think I'm gonna fix it up and put it in working order. I noticed when I picked it up that it's got a big star stamped into the bottom of it. I thought that was neat. I'll keep an eye out for some more as I'm working on this one. Thanks for your help. I'll check them out.
