Thanks I was wondering if the dogs got in the video but they do love hanging out at night in there and when I grab a lantern from the garage they bolt out the door and run to the gazebo it’s too funny 😂
Wow a nice score on a Feuerhand 260 lantern there Ken!🙂 Yup stopped at a local antique store not far from me & yes scored an early NY U.S.A. made Dietz little wizard lantern with a red globe! Great score! Now have an older version Dietz little wizard & a new version Dietz little wizard lanterns in my collection!👍 Yup cleaned up the vintage Dietz little wizard & the fount had no leaks & burner work fantastic! Filled it with kerosene & a beautiful burning lantern! It was lantern time!👍👍

Balistol was invented in Germany in the WWI to be used as a general purpose lubricant/rust and rotting protection for leather, guns and so on... great stuff with a nice smell to me :)

@lotsatrains Could see bubbled burnt paint on the top of one example. I personally would rather have the rust. I took an old rusty Pagoma #2 cold blast placed into a bucket of rust remover. Used a 3M light scrubbing pad/tooth brush to clean up. Sure, it looks sharp ✨️
Hi Ken, I stopped at my local ice cream parlor and put a bug in his ear. Saturday night light up the night.Locals bring their lantern to the ice cream parlor and get a discount on their ice cream It is an idea. Maybe you can do that with one of your locals. Ice cream shop.
I am in communications with a guy about the station caboose lamp, you have That's funny that you mentioned lanterns. After i'm already in conversations with somebody on them and I buy them great video on the tabbing of the Crown

Yes we have one that barely runs too and my son did some research and found out that this one was supposed to be a good runner and as it turns out works pretty well 👍
Saw this yesterday. Tools arrived today! Amazon owes you! Instead of breaking in the cutters, as you did, I loosened the bolts with a 10mm socket. They work great. Thanks for the tip.
@@chefbirdland Definitely a good runner I also have another one but doesn’t work too well so my son actually researched this one and was supposed to be pretty good and turns out it is pretty good 👍
I have been using ballistol for guns for almost 2 decades before it came premixed and I can never become used to the aroma. To me, it smells like sweaty socks. 🤢
Great score, brother. I'm looking to get a lantern with a red globe. It has cancer. Is there anything I can do to remove the cancer? He wats $30 for it
Nothing you can really do with the glass cancer from what I know you can lightly sand it if it has gotten really bad and has spiked up but you can still use the globe.
Awesome episode Ken! That cutter set is great- The Atlantic lantern is just beautiful! I also bought Ballistol but the smell makes me gag! Turns out it’s mostly mineral oil! 😃👍
Great video, Ken. I never thought about heavy duty cutters until now. Good score. Also the Atlantic by Embury looks great! I have a couple like that. The Embury made Triumph and the Farewell Ozmun Kirk & co. Great burners and I like the globe guards.
