Wonderful! I was fortunate enough to attend the wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery here in the US, which is a wonderful sight to see and an excellent memorial (extremely somber but fitting), but otherwise, unless one cared about history, the significance of 11/11/2018 seemingly went largely unnoticed. I love the Brits' pomp and circumstance around celebrations like this, and you can't not know what's going on! British military bands are a sight to see, I really hope to visit one day and catch Beating Retreat or some other large event.

Along with Beating of the Retreat, try and get to see the Royal Marines Massed Bands doing the Retreat as well they are the U.K.'s best military band and I'm an ex-squaddie not ex-Royal Navy or Royal Marines.

Yes must be nice to live in a country that has so much tradition and honors its past with parades and ceremony. Here all we do is go to Walmart.Except for a small groups here nobody cares.Dad did World War 2,Korea and Vietnam and for thirty years nobody said thanks. Not one time. Before he passed he asked me why only in the last few years they've said thanks.?Dad I have no idea,I said quietly.Weve never suffered here in this country like they have in Europe. No ones Experienced scorched earth here since the civil war.Nobody cares either. Thanks England,Its nice to watch a country that does care.

Moving. My grandfather flew in action on the Western Front in 1918. I cherish his stories. Also my father who was a paratrooper in WWII. It is however this kind of stirring music that sent sent thousands to imminent deaths. It is 2018.

The order is completely screwed up. The Life Guards are the most senior regiment, so the should be ahead of any of the foot guards. With the exception of RHA, the order for the British Army goes by regimental number. 1st Life Guards, 2nd Blues & Royals, 3rd (now RSDG), 4/5/6/7th (now Royal Dragoon Guards), 8th (now Royal Hussars)..... The Royal Horse Artillery (with guns) are senior, without guns they are the same as the RA.
