3/31/2022 It just goes to show that quality workmanship makes the difference when it comes to vintage guitars. I knew a man way back in the late 1960's (Paul Mann) who was a Gibson technician in San Diego, California, who owned an L-5 Centennial. I believe that to this day it is the finest Gibson guitar I've ever seen. Old fumble fingers, here, would not even touch it. Great restoration and instructional narrative. ;-)

Very interesting and enjoyable! I strummed a 1929 Gibson mandolin in a store 45 years ago, just for a minute. I still recall how incredibly good it sounded. Of course it cost far more than my car so the temptation to buy it couldn't be acted upon but it's a wonderful memory. It seems they had some great people at Gibson in that era.

No annoying banter or bad jokes but thoughtful, intelligent explanation in an easy to digest way. Beautiful work, too! I wish you were in NYC. 😉 oh, and I loved how every time you were blocked by a decision you came back with “the owner decided to....” I’ve experienced a few times when the luthier has taken liberties without asking and I’ve had to call him and ask “what did you do?”- . Fine playing as well.
