This music takes me back to the days in Chicago after I had graduated high school. A friend at the time introduced me to all of this music via Paul Whitman via the Dick Lawrence Review. I have loved this type of music ever since. Please keep this up. It is a treasure.

The mere existence of these 78 RPM goes beyond any cometary (including mine), not only is the material treasure that it means but the auditory treasure is much greater, testimony of a time already gone long ago and recovered through modern conservation and diffusion as is this (the RU-vid) for example and of course give thanks to all those who own them and who humbly provide them, cutting undeservedly from the garden of the most beautiful flowers that they give us. Thank you

Then it is even more important to preserve this irreplaceable treasure, and not destroy them by playing them back with heavy steel needles, as too many seems to do, even to this day!

Wonderful recordings done beautifully as usual. Both tunes are from the delightful Maurice Chevalier film "The Playboy Of Paris". In the film the song "My Ideal" was just a throw away, it wasn't so much sang as talked through, a rather missed opportunity. I was glad to hear this version,..great melody.

I seem to recall seeing an NBC publicity shot with Fran and "Hotcha" Gardner resting their chins on a 4A - a pretty odd composition but it showed them both in profile, as "book ends."

True Hi-Fi from 1930! How does this come about? What do you mean by "Hi Def 78RPM".Were there really such records? What technique was used? Why were not all 78:s "Hi Def"? A question of cost?
