I'm a caregiver to a sweet lady who is nearing 90 years of age. Today is August 26, 2023. This is our favorite pastime. I pulled up playlist on my cell phone 2 hours ago & were sitting outside in the shade listening and reminiscing. This calms her anxiety and Alzheimers best by going down memory lane. Dinner is in the slow cooker and we are enjoying Indian Summer 😊
Man this is so heartwarmingly amazing ❤ It's so true!! And being a catetaker is a tough job, i am a caretaker fo we my parebts and know how hard that can be ❤God bless you!! ❤❤❤
@@hmmmmm64 Thank you so.much!! I love her and hope if I see latter-days like hers, that someone will give the same level of support, compassion, patience & TLC.
@@SmokestackRelics.... its a task that I have loved since age 16 first volunteer experience in nursing homes and state mental health hospitals. I determined that no loved one of mine would go neglected in their latter years. Thank you for Gods blessings and I extend the same to you as well!!
i'm 88 now and in my terrace on the rocking chair remembering all the war years music and all the friends and family who have passed away. Memories are both sweet and sour but this music brings a smile to my face.
When I was 10 my mom lost custody so we moved in with my dad. His dad (my grandpa) would drive 40 minutes and pick me up from school when dad couldn't. He would play this kinda music everytime. I was so embarrassed for my friends that might hear or being made fun of. It brings tears to my eyes to hear this music because those were such special moments I got to have with him. I'll never forget showing him a rap song I'm sure he hated but he gritted his teeth and said, "oh if it's got a beat I can listen to it" That sweet man probably wanted to pull his hair out hearing ludacris or whoever
music like this make me feel like i was born in the wrong generation. somehow i feel nostalgic for times that i have not even experienced (im barely in my 20s) but the fact that streaming services and other technology allows me to listen to these kinds of music on bluetooth headphones at home, sitting at my laptop, for free, makes me think how lucky i am to be born in this generation. thank you for this playlist 😊
I'm also enjoying the comments. Music can bring such harmony and connection between diverse human beings flung across the globe! To all my fellow listeners, have a wonderful day!
I thought I was the only one who scrolled the comments to see who listened to these amazing tunes. I'm 53 (1971) and I love listening to this and oddly enough, classical music now. This coming from an 80's hair band follower and country music listener. The new music these days is just crap and violence. I love when young people in their teens and 20's comment on these videos that they like listening. It gives me hope for the younger generation. 😊
❤ I too like looking through the comments. Gives you an idea of whose listening! My mother doesn't even like this music and I do ,and she born in the 40's. I like it because it is mellow.
One of my hobbies is restoring antique radios from the 1930s and 40s. I love to listen to this music playing on these radios and imagine that the radio is playing the same music that it played when it was new. Radio was still in its infancy then.
Good hobby. I have several of these machines and have used them often in the past. Also have many records all types and players including a windup floor model Victrola. Last few years I've come to realize every one of the electric players need worked on. A repairman of vintage equipment is always needed.
There is something so wholesome and calming about doing stuff in the kitchen (dishwashing, getting breakfast ready, etc) with this music playing. Takes me back to a time I wasn't around for. My wife loves it because i'm always inspired to clean a little more with this music playing because it is so relaxing a melodic lol.
I've always appreciated this musical style, I get it from dad! Hes not here now bless him. I'm 58 now, me, growing up in late 70s early 80s I liked the back end of disco as well. But I have a special place for vintage music n fashion for those eras. Loving the zoot suit song! ❤❤❤😊😊😊😊
I have a handful of 78's handed down from my parents. I remember listening to them in the 40s. There was Victor Sylvester of course. This was an era where the music was music, and sex was a dirty word.
I enjoy music from all eras but find the 30s and 40s the best! Songs are pure and clean and the arrangements are the best. I'm so glad to see so many others appreciate it too ❤️
I was born in the early 70's and I seem to prefer music of the 30's and 40's as well. There is something about how it takes me back to a simpler time and away from this crazy modern world.
my mother came of age (21) during WW2 in England - her father wouldn't let her or her mother listen to this when he was home - only the radio for news updated for which he had a crystal set with earphones. When he wasn't home, they would listen to music and I imagine it was very much like this...
One of my fondest memories with my mother before she passed was singing in the car with her to “Don’t Get Around Much Anymore.” She was singing it to our dad who had just passed away and I was singing it to her.
To all other fellow sweet swing music listeners and old souls, keep the tunes alive, play them loud, sing them proud, and for heaven's sake, don't stop the music! = } P.S. My thanks to you, Classical Tunes, for posting this list!
I was born in 59, but I love this music, I love the old movies from the 40s I think my soul is much happier with this. I don't like how things are today. My late Mother was born in 1937 so this is what was playing.
@@Rebecca-p7d Wow. I relate to what you say! I am 21 and I feel as if I had a past life in the '30s...everyone overlooks the '30s- it's either the '20s or '40s. Even though the Depression was going on at the time, everyone still came together and hepled each other...wether in song, in dance, or in the basic human connection, that of which we have forgotten today. I cannot stand modern ideals and people most times. I listen to this lovely music to transport me to a much better time. Like you said, a time with music that makes my soul happy!
I'm shift lead in a Dairy Queen and always seem to pic 3ps 40s music or fine dining smooth jazz for lobby music. Looks like I'll be playing this Sunday.
People who had this music growing up, I wasn’t born but from what history has shown it seemed hectic, it’s nice to know through all of it y’all could have a moment to relax and enjoy the tunes
Another 49er here. Enjoying this trip down memory lane - my Dad had a great record collection of 78s from the late 30's and 40's. This brings back some wonderful feelings of listening to that7 music with him.
This music fills a void I didn't even know I had. Found it out several years ago. Couldn't get this music in the Canadian and Alaskan bush, not as much as I wanted anyway. I'm in Colorado now and I'm getting that void filled. 😊
There is just something that makes me feel complete when I hear it. Glad you like it too. I'd love to be able to go to one of the old time nightclubs and listen and dance. I don't drink but how fun would that be?
This is by far the best playlist I discovered last year. I have been hearing it for months and I cannot get bored. Its so positive an well combined with only great hits. Thank you for taking time to mix it ad sharing it with the world!
I listen to internet mixes often, but this is a special one. It's like all the songs have been perfectly chosen according to the times, the 1930s and 40s. Absolutely great.
Im finding this music so soothing, after a long day. It makes me think of my Grandparents, my Mom and Aunts & Uncles. They were all around then, I imagine them listening and I feel them closer to me.
내가 태어나기도 전인 80~90년대의 음악을 들으며 그 시대의 리듬과 감성을 느끼는 것은 무척 흥미롭고 재미있다. 여기 대한민국에서... Listening to music from the 80s and 90s, before I was even born, and feeling the rhythm and sensibility of that era is very interesting and fun. Here in Korea...
I have been listening to French vintage music like Edith Piaf etc and your channel pops up! Thank you for sharing this beautiful music compilation- the real music..clean and modest. I am closer to 50 and I can not stand most of the modern songs full of filthy words and promiscuity. May God bless you and your music channel. ❤🎶🎧🎤🎵🎼
Absolutely wonderful. I've been incredibly stressed these past 6 months, and so I've been listening to this genre of music. It seems to eliviate my anxiety some what and places me on a focused path. It makes me want to dance and so I do. 😊
The best. Takes you away from the current time we are in... and all the troubles. That's not to say there weren't global problems back then (obviously lol). But from what we know and read about, people respected one another and did it with class. Cities were safer, crime not like today, and Hollywood was full of class acts. This music represents a better time. Thank you!
I think the time we live in right now is actually pretty good. Back then, every day was hard work, so I think the music was this calm because it was a comfort for the people after a long day.
I've gone through a lot of music genres to use as background music while I write. Atmosphere/ambient, classical, '80s, '90s, '70's, maltshop, rockabilly, jazz, city pop, synthwave, sea shanties, J/K Pop, Spanish, Italian, Halloween, among others, but after playing so much Fallout 4, I think '30s and '40s may be my new favorite.
From spain....like this music..but this kinda music makes me feel wit certain peace,so calm n so relaxin when im relaxin at bed .....but makes me to thinkin about GREAT DEPRESSION about or Happy US¡¡ NEVER BEEN TO USA !
I was born in October 1st, 1941 in Santiago, Chile, but this music has been my friend ( as well as .my dear wife, who died years ago), and continnues as such.
Sorry for your loss. I was born in 59 but have a love for this here music and the movies back in the 30s and 40s. The stuff today is mostly immoral. Very sad what the world is today.
How absolutely Lovely 🌹🌹 this reminds me of my Boss who recently passed. Great memories of him playing this whilst we worked on the Tues which was his day to come in And I would make coffee for us! I also saw him perform every year in his Uptown NYC Glee Club -; Just grande memories!! Thank you ❤
Beautiful music to be listened to in a calmly summer night like this one, for example… What loving memories of classical films come to my mind, when I sat close to my father many evenings to watch them and learn carefully about other cultures, manners and past times. That made me the woman I am now and tries to improve everyday.
Thank you for sharing with this wonderful playlist. I like the atmosphere created by these harmonious sounds and this discreet rhythm. Above all, I love the voice of Anita Boyer accompanied by the orchestras of Leo Reismen and Tommy Dorsey. A treat.❤ Simpatica....
💬… de France et du haut de mes 47 ans, j'aurais tellement aimé vivre à cette époque où les gens dégagés une classe folle bien loin de l'époque actuelle ! 😘🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
