Don't get me wrong, I love the episodes where Jay is talking about and driving other people's cars, but these are my favorite; when he's talking about something from his own collection. You can really see the enjoyment in these videos; they're all cars and bikes that he has because he loves them.

@@georgecostanza2695 Really? What do you think of the new Indian Scount Bobber Twenty? It's gorgeous. I like retro too but this new Bobber will be looked at in 50 years as pure beauty and art.
@georgecostanza2695
@georgecostanza2695 2 года назад
@@hlmitchel don't get me wrong, I'm actually not a retro guy. I'm a huge fan of modern design but I'm not into bobber bikes much. The problem I have with Indian is that they've been on again off again so many times, I don't think corporate even knows what they're trying to be. At the moment, I think they're just trying to capitalize off what heritage cues they can then take it from there. HD on the other hand has never strayed very far from their core design philosophy and language, therfore their products are able to portray a much more natural evolution... like I can see how they got to where they are now, from where they started. There may not be value in that to everybody, but sometimes it's nice to have that consistency and foundation in an ever changing world. Anyways, my favorite contemporary Indian on terms of styling is the FTR. Not a bike I'd ever buy, but I sure do enjoy looking at it!

What a great episode. It was nice to explore this old machine in a relaxed way with just Jay and no guests. I can't believe how smooth that engine runs on startup, and I love the subtle gear whine. I hope this episode garners just as much enjoyment from the audience as the big ones, so we can see more like this.

I'm Irish and am ashamed that I'd never heard of Charles Franklin before watching this. Bizarrely, in a country that is always celebrating its own sportsmen and achievers, he has been skipped over in Ireland. So I went and bought the book, "Franklin's Indians", and have just finished reading it. Good to see that the authors of the book have now put a memorial plaque on the house in Drumcondra where Charles Franklin was born. There is a video on RU-vid of them unveiling it.

This, to me, is everything Jay's channel is truly about. Teaching us young bucks (I'm 28, guess I'm not that young) an in depth history lesson on a gorgeous motorcycle or old car. I do respect the vendors Jay features on here and some of the brand new cars that are debuting, but to me the very best videos involve taking the old (simpler) metal masterpieces out for some fresh air. Fantastic video!

I had a smile on my face just watching jay ride the classic, there is nothing like looking at one in real life, my wife's childhood friend's husband had a ww2 model harley with sidecar, it still had the original army paint, sidecar with windscreen, .30 carbine saddle, and all of the accessories used with the military model, I wish I had the money to buy it, for her husband passed away and the bike just sits there. a wonderful piece of history.

Pure Motorcycling at it's best. How lucky can you get to have an owner of a bike like this to show how it was in the early days of the sport, AND to ride it. So many are relegated to museums and private collections Jay, thank you so very much for allowing us to enjoy your bike as much as you do!

Where I live there’s too much snow and ice during winter to ride. Every spring, that first ride is always the most exciting. You’re not re-learning how to ride. But you’re just barely enough out of practice that the sensation of riding feels brand new all over again. That adrenaline rush is so much more than any other.

I love old bikes I'm restoring a 1946 Indian Chief thanks in part to Kiwi Indian parts and Starklite parts where I'm getting most my parts to get this old girl back on the road. This is my third Indian Chief and I'm not selling this one. Back in the early 70's you could still find them but not now. I like all Jay's video but the vintage motorcycles are my favorite. I learned to ride on a 38 Indian Scout my neighbor had in the mid 60's. I know you won't remember you meet so many people but I met you at Bike week in Daytona like 30 years. You looked over my fully restored 1972 FLH in front of the Crazy House salon if I recall. Thanks for the video..

I think I like these kind of videos a lot more for a change where it's about one of Jay's vehicles and he talks the whole time about it instead of having someone else talking back and forth about their car as it's more authentic if it's Jay's own and you can tell by his emotion and interest over his own cars compared to someone else's. Also this video felt more down to earth and personal unless that was because Jay was tired lol.

I saw an Indian Scout in a Wall of Death just like 3-4 Years ago here in Germany. If you ever have the opportunitiy, watch these shows. The noise, the vibration, the sheer danger, that is absolutely unique

What a beautiful note that this bike has. You put your stuff out there for everyone to enjoy, like no one else does Jay. Can't thank you enough for that and all of the knowledge that you impart. You are a natural teacher / historian.

Jay I wasn't going to watch this episode. I saw the title and I thought to myself oh boy another couple of boring guys droning on about some restoration they did of an old Indian motorcycle but it actually turned out to be a delight! it was just you and your favorite bike. absolutely wonderful

How wonderful. My dad was born in 1907 so when this bike came out he would have been 24 years old. He had a tat on his forearm that had an indian head that looked like the one on the buffalo head nickel and around the picture it said Indian Motorcycles USA. When Jay pulled away from that light and shifted into second gear I would have sworn it was my dad. Oh yea, he and his older brother rode the wall too. Thanks Jay!
