He might be up their in age, but he was as sharp as a tack. In this short 11 min video he knew everything about that car and more. Glad Chip is keeping it original as it should be.
A beautiful survivor. Thank you for only wanting to clean it up. We all know you can hand build this car by hand from scratch. Thank you Chip and much respect for keeping it all original.👍❤️
That's a rolling peice of american history on wheels and those old guys are a dieing breed. The owner knows all the history and it's very rare to see a car that orignal with the markings,wheels,lights,etc...even the tires as are close to original as you can get! It's an amazing automobile, what sight to see!
It's awesome the old guy knows so much of the history of that car. It's the little bits that make it special. Production info like early and late, window glass production date, $50 upgrade, etc. Fantastic details from a senior. I believe Chip will do the right thing with that car.
Loved the back story to such a classic vehicle. I could listen to this gentleman all day. Glad to hear Chips keeping it the way it is. Too damn good to cut up.
I had two friends in high school who had restored Model A's. John had a 1929 tudor frame off fully restored. Don had a self restored 1930 Model A coupe. A bunch of us took a trip in the '29, cruising 35 mph all the way to Banff Canada for an antique car show. One time I rode with Don in his coupe to a car show in Seattle, which was 295 miles from Spokane. I didn't think we'd ever get there, but we made it there and back home with no problems. Don is still active with the Model A club at home. Good times.
Excellent! This is an absolute gem! I am so happy to hear the plan is to preserve the originality and do the necessary repairs and maintenance. This car simply oozes history that cannot be replicated by anyone anywhere. No level of talent, backed by any amount of money, could build what this car has. Well done, Mr. Foose, I salute you, along with the seller and those before him, that have kept the car as it has aged from new to now without modifications or molestation.
It’s awesome to see Chip, pull up in a normal pick up truck with a normal car trailer loading it and hauling it himself…..true car guy no matter how much money he has. So awesome
Looking forward to seeing it cleaned up. Amazing that old car made it so long unmolested. Probably because it wasn't a V-8. The "B" four's run really well. Nice find, and If I was Chip, I'd a bought that sign too. Great old guy, interesting man.
What an awesome old dude! Remember the dude is just an kid whose body is aging. Same person on the inside as he wad at 18. One cool guy I could talk with for hours. Thanks Chip for becoming the next caretaker of that 32. Remember that's all we are to these cars, and hopefully we can do our best to give them the longest life possible.
Okay, I'm impressed. Chip Foose drove the truck and trailer, loaded and strapped the car down himself. Very down to earth -- no "reality TV" here. And as has been said, so happy to hear this survivor is being kept as is.
Excellent car with a great back story and now a new end and beginning. Pete can add to the story, yeah and I sold it to Chip Foose ! Aside from being an automotive design genius his best trait is that he is as down to earth as Pete. Extreme talent runs in his family
Thank You Chip Foose for saving this original old ford. To many people would just Hot Rod it and another one would be lost. My dad had a nice original 39 Ford (i believe it was a 39) After he passed we had people that wanted to buy it and Hot Rod it. We wouldn't let that hapeen. Sold it to a local man that kept it like it was, when he passed it went to his son who will keep it the same way as well. Thanks for sharing this story with us.
Good find in Solvang. I hope you were able to take the coast back and drive through Goleta. I thought for sure you were going to buy it for a project. That's cool you're keeping it original. Thank you for the video Chip, I miss that place.
Amazing survivor car and the information that gentleman has about all the glass and $50 upgrades from factory,I bet there’s a lot of people that didn’t know any of that information that just cut up cars because it is just old.Need more old timers like him to tell us all their knowledge.
Cool old rod, nice back story. I agree with Chip, I'd like to see this cleaned up as is and the current finish protected. Make it dependable, it needs nothing else. The previous owner to the current one was also right, it's too nice, too original to chop up.
"Leave it alone" THANK YOU!!! As much as restomoding is cool, preserving something in its original state is more valuable IMO. If that thing was already hacked/swapped/modded, than yes - but in such a beautiful state it should be kept as is.
Love it and leave it as it is, what a time capsule. When this generation of people are gone I worry about us people left behind, they were the greatest generation.
My favorite Chip Foose video, this old 32 FORD could have not went to a better home, the gentleman who sold the car was very knowledgeable of the car's history, they both know this car is a piece of FORD'S history, a very rare find, the smile on Chip's face tells the whole story, he loves his cars, what a great story, good luck with the 32! Hope to see more videos of this BEAUTY.
I'm very glad to see your going to keep it original! Take it to a car show and I bet you'll have more people looking at this car than all of the others because it's "original"
Chip, I always watched your TV shows and I thought I was subscribed to your RU-vid channel, well, now I know I'm subbed, left a thumbs up, and a tap on the bell. I hope to see more of your shows, jobs and....stuffff. Thanks for sharing this with all of us, I'm looking forward to seeing this car when you get it all cleaned up.
I just bought a 1936 Chevy Sedan from the original owners daughter! All original even came with all the license plates up until 1998 when last registered. Man is she a sweet ride. Already put 60 miles on it since I bought it. Even took it out on the highway at 55 m.p.h.! I'm not hot rodding this thing. It's way to damn solid to cut it up.
The headlight bar being stock is an alloy steel bar that is clad with a stainless steel cover ("rustless steel" per Henry); this S/S clad extends only between the headlights. Henry claimed that his cars in 1932 were constructed using over 50 alloys of steel.
Great story Chip. Really good to see there are still some 100% original cars around. Give it a wipe, sort the carb, valves etc. It should run ok for a while.
Omg, Chip, what a gem. I love the 32's, but from New York.? And no rust. Back then, every part on the car had the Ford emblem on them. None of the parts were made in Asia... 🤣🤣🤣
