That’s the exhausts all genuine k3’s have and you may call it an “awful racket” but it is a work of art and the prices reflect how true that statement is
@@danielboghossian8688 What are you babbling about? The din I was referring to is the horrible background music. Fishtails and Brooklands silencers isn't limited to K3's.
@@JJZBULLITT109 I was shocked I thought you meant the K3 I thought such a gorgeous car like that but now I understand what you meant by din 😂 but yeah I know the fishtails aren’t just restricted to the k3’s but commonly they’re are on the k3’s but I haven’t seen another mg with a fishtail as standard but my grandads k3 is a fishtail with a fishtail exhaust genuine from the chassis and to every bolt my grandad is Peter green you may of heard of him before
I saw. Is k0294 the chassis. So is a k1 modified. So please do not call a k3. Better to call a k1 with k3 specification. Thanks. Anyway a good work. Bravo !
DEAR MR. ROBERT GRENAUGH, APPOLOGIZE FOR MISS SPELLING OF YOUR NAME. THANK YOU FOR KEEN INSIGHT ON THE K 3. I WOULD LIKE TO CONSIDER MYSELF A KNOWLEDGEABLE CONNISEUR OF FINE MOTORCARS BUT AM NOT. THANK YOU FOR YOUR OBSERVANCE OF THIS CHARLOTTRANY ! AND TO THE OWNER OF THIS ELEGANT LITTLE SCAT CAR MY SINCERE APPOLOGY. IT JUST GOES TO SHOW HOW NAIVE I STILL AM. IVE ALWAYS LOVED THE EARLY MGS BUT IM STILL NOT AN EXPERT. I STILL ADMIRE YOUR VEHICLE THOUGH. WHO KNOWS MAYBE THE OTHER GUY IS JUST JEALOUS! SO YOU HAVE THE EQUIVALENT OF SOME 90 HORSE POWER IN THAT SVELDT LIGHT LITTLE MASTERWORK. ILL BET SHES HORNEY! PLEASE DONT ROD IT. THAT IT MIGHT SURVIVE FOR OTHERS TO DROOL OVER SOME DAY? THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR BLOOD SWEAT AND TOIL! PROFOUNDEST ADMIRATION ENJOY IN GOOD HEALTH.
@@russellnixon9981 Russell, ok I understand. Presently assembling a Cadillac 8.3 liter V8. It should produce 600 hp n/a and 1000 hp with a supercharger. My perspective is skewed.
@@jkoysza1 My answer, was not the only reason although true. There is more to it. Small engines are better suited to supercharging than much bigger engines like Bentley 4.5 with very large pistons bigger flame front, slower revving and acceleration. Small engines had a much better power to weight ratio then the big Bentleys even adding a blower just added more weight in addition to a big old fuel tank with a tone of gas you enter a downward spiral . Lastly British horse power was calculated on piston bore size, not capacity of the bore , size of stroke, or out put at the shaft or wheel, so even the horse power numbers completely different to what we use today. So Reily 9s made more like 30hp then the taxed 9 hp. Longed answer but hope it explains it a bit better.
@@russellnixon9981 Excellent explanation. With cheap petrol, our solution to every engine problem was: more displacement. No need for elegant engineering. Thanks.
Yes you need amount of power to get some speed. Fuel before 1922 has no leaded. So more tend to knock. These engines back then run on low rpm and low compression. And indeed Fuel was cheap. Main target was to make engines as cheap as possible within enough torque/power. And produce them with the tech available back then.
