J-1 throughJ-4. The J-1 was a four seater for a small family. The J-2 was what you would think of as a traditional 2 seater sports car. The J-3 looked like the J-2 except the carb was at the front of the car visible through the front valance and underneath the valance cover was a crank driven supercharger. The J-4 was an all out racer with no doors, exhaust pipes running down the side of the car and you simply hopped in because there were no doors. The carb and supercharger were much larger than the J-3. I would assume the engine had a larger displacement.
That rear seat is not for children only. It actually fits 2 adults. You can see how the back end of the top is high. In the 2 seater, the back of the top goes down. This is designed to make room for the back seat passengers' heads .
