Here is a new video !!
This is a rare Live Steam model train produced by the English company "BOWMAN" around 1932.
The seller told me the last time he saw it running was when he was a little boy... 50 years ago !!
A few versions of that 0-4-0 locomotive were made and I think the original color of that particularly one was green.
I really wanted to keep that loco neat once restored but... I promised I would make it run again... and honestly I really wanted to see it on the rail track !!
I've had to create new labels, even if they have been damaged by the heat... I'll make new ones !! :)
Please watch till the end to see this rare live steam locomotive in action !
By supporting the channel you help me make more of these video and find more amazing items.
I hope you'll enjoy this restoration.
Thanks a lot for watching !

I've always enjoyed seeing the old being given a new lease on life. You, Chip Channel Restorations, AR Restoration, and other channels like y'all are always fun to watch. It's good that little steamie has a new home that loves it enough to restore it to full working order. Hope it lasts many more years and the great great grandkids of the future have it running and taken care of still.

When watching, I cringed at the stickers and the end of the video proved me right. The original was painted. Stickers should not be used. I also think sand blasting brass is a terrible idea. Could have dunked the boiler in vinegar for a short time for better clean. Also I caution against jbweld on boilers.

The condition of this locomotive is so telling of it's story- You can just look at it to see that the original owner took great pride in it by how it is still in completely original condition with minimal external wear/damage for it's age... Quite honestly, it's more than a little awe-inspiring seeing how something so old, can still be in such good condition with the proper construction of the maker and care of the owner... I do genuinely hope that you continue to do more restorations like these in the future!

It’s quite literally the purpose of the model, it was made to operate, and when you’ve just spent (presumably) days getting every single component back into shape, you’ll obviously want to see your little mechanical marvel doing what it was designed to do

My cousin had one back in the early 1950s. The boiler wasn’t painted fir a very good reason - paint and flames don’t mix well together. The cylinders and rods were also left in original colour of the metal.

Wow what that flame did to the new paint and decal was bad. Beautiful restoration job 👍

Glad you had some help this time ;) Perfect work as usual, and nice job recreating the green and lining of the famous LNER livery. Sure, it got heat damaged on first run by, hey, it's a stream engine!

Nice one! I also have one of these wild locos. There is a part missing that helps reduce the burning of the "side tanks" There should be a steel plate running from the footplate, up inside the side tanks and fitting under their top flange. These can also be "superheated", by running the steam pipe from the back of the boiler, along the burners then into the T piece to the cylinders. Great fun.

Splendide ! You are so skilled and you have the right tools : to do a good and eats job you need all the good tools around your work place. If I want to use it I would not paint it or only with 1200 high temp. paint the one we use for exhaust pipes and not out paper stickers. I would look nice raw steel…I planning to buy one to join my electric 20v french trains JEP…Congratulations and take care of you.

Thank you very much ! Sorry for the late reply. I should have painted it heat resistant paint. But the problem was the decals… Paper wasn’t a very good idea 😅🙌

I imagine this person sees a broken model train every now and then and thinks “absolutely not gonna let that slide.” and just brings it back home to restore it.
