A valid but still debatable point. From the details I have for the footage and estate, I'm quite certain the individuals posing were not passengers. Respectfully, I'm in no position to re-edit the film at this point, unless someone is prepared to cover the costs.

@@ReelLifeCanada True enough, we're not in a position at this late date to know exactly who these people were. Of course, this was back in the day before television, when Amusement was not so readily available as it is at our fingertips today. A giant ship like that beached in that location would be sort of like having an elephant show up in your living room.

@@rogersheddy6414 Well said, society has evolved. We, as people would also crowd an accident or fire scene back in "those" days, which is why yellow police tape evolved. There are countless examples of changed societal attitudes brought on by a need to encourage people to behave more appropriately.

@@ReelLifeCanada speaking of changing societal attitudes, there are plenty of people today who would take it even further and say, “sadly someone decided to film.” claiming that it was insensitive to those who lost their lives and their families. In this day and age no ones self righteous opinion is beyond reproach. It’s all subjective.

@@66kprdwd Lack of originality? Plagiarism? That's quite the leap there. What would you suggest I do? Where should I go to research this footage? Who should I be interviewing? How will I pay for this? I think you kind of missed the point of this long term project. I live 3600 km from Asbury Park, NJ. This is amateur footage that was stored in closets or basements forgotten, often unlabelled/unidentified. I've saved thousands of them over the past 30+ years from certain oblivion, some reels I saved as they were about to be tossed in the rubbish bin. Do you understand the properties of nitrate, diacetate or acetate film? Are you aware how film breaks down over time? Vinegar syndrome or mold issues? I use multiple sources online, yes, including Wikipedia, to add information as accurately as possible. I do not have the luxury of a team of well paid researchers, production assistants, writers, producers, etc. I produce these episodes solo to share for the greater good. Collecting, restoring and preserving these 16mm reels is expensive and time consuming. Effective temperature and humidity control is not cheap, its critical to maintaining these reels for future generations to appreciate, a few of my reels are now over 100 years old. RU-vid monetization pays *very* little when you have a relatively small subscriber base, only when a channel has 250K+ subscribers do you actually make enough to consider it even a modest income. Respectfully, if you want to improve this, consider financially supporting the channel.
