That's the way my brother wanted it, I would have preferred to do it rusty. lol.

Thanks Tom, it's a challenging kit. For myself I would have done it rusty, but it's for my brother. Didn't realize he was such a cool looking guy. lol.

Beautiful Presentation All the Way Through Steve & Awesome Replica Work, I'm Doing a re-peat Replica/ Tribute Build of My Departed Oldest Brother's 55 Chevy Belair 2dr HT/ Hot Rod ,,they're NOT Easily Done But Can Be a Lot of Fun Doing & quite Satisfying When Accomplished. Till next time, God Bless All

Thanks Gary, there were some challenges with the kit but you are correct, it's nice when it's done. Enjoy your build and the memories that go with it. Will you be posting pics of the build?

It turn out great I don`t know how you guys get good results with the folk art paint still playing with it
@ModelCarMinion
@ModelCarMinion 6 лет назад
Thanks John, should have thinned it a bit more, still a little texture in the finish. Takes practice and playing with the mix and air pressure, I find about 55% future 45% acrylic craft paint and 28-30 psi with the Paasche H airbrush works pretty well. The Aztec paints are airbrush ready and available at Michaels, they give a good idea of the thinness of the paint. I also use badger primer first.
@JohnPol
@JohnPol 6 лет назад
I find when I use the cup it goes on better I also use the paasche H

Model Car Minion Just FYI our Michael’s here near me are clearing out all the Aztec paint. I picked up the last 3 bottles at one store for like $2 ea.

I use the cup all the time too, not sure about using the bottles.

do you mix it first before you put it in the cup?

Replica builds have more of a story than "Out of the box". Like the color choices and nostalgia and a few Preiser figures. Great work, cheers Eh!
@ModelCarMinion
@ModelCarMinion 6 лет назад
Thanks Gordon, didn't know about the figures, they had a few of them loose in a box at the hobby store. I googled the name you used and saw they are for train layouts.
@gordonenquist36
@gordonenquist36 6 лет назад
Preiser is a German Mfg. of many scales of figures. You can find the same figures as you have scaled down to 1:87 HO. The 1:24 scale works well for the garden scale rail hobbyists. Hot tooling the hair will add easy detail. I also have some 1:24 scale Prussians, (Frederick the Great era) and Adam and Eve sets, well detailed. Also check out Masterbox for 1:24 scale figure kits. ICM makes a 3 figure set of Henry Ford, a mechanic and friend. Cheers.

Thanks John, They had them loose in a box at the local hobby shop, according to Gordon's comment below they are Preiser figures probably for train sets.

@@ModelCarMinion for sure, I believe at one time their may have been a resin kit or parts to convert, that was a while back though. I have an original 36 Fork kit going I need to jump back on! Love em!!

I prefer the Monogram/Revell kits but they don't always make the car I'm looking for. Guess that extra cleanup is part of the hobby.
