I like it! Don't know what you have planned for it but just wondering that it must not be a rumble seat or you probably would have hinged it on the side maybe a third of the way up. Okay okay, just set the notifications.

Please don't let the "never finish anything" commenters and other complainers get to you. Because your latest Victor-visit video had 90,000 views (a very good sampling for statistical analysis) I noted it had 577 comments at the time. That means the silent majority is at around 99.36 percent and silence typically expresses satisfaction; and, although I didn't check, I'd bet that complaints comprise less than one percent of the total comments. I'd say you have overwhelming support for continuing the way you are doing things, me included. While it will be vicariously satisfying to see all of your projects when finished, I am very happy that you are taking us along for the ride getting there.

The reason that I enjoy watching Ian is that he doesn't have all of those "fancy" tools. He solves problems on the fly, and uses what he has. His vehicles turn out just as well, or better than some of those high budget shops. Carry on Ian.

Ian, I fully understand your process. After spending my Career doing Autobody work in all kinds of Shops, I usually had 2 or 3 cars or pickups in my stalls that I was rotating between all the time for various issues. Waiting on parts, Bondo to harden, Primer to dry, doing Trim out or detail finishing while the big project sat. Also, when I worked for Graham Oates who once worked for George Barris and learned to do some customization, he would have me fabricate a section of a fender or a side skirt or fill in the gaps after a roof chop and I was always going from one side to the other to make sure that I was making the parts I was welding in look symmetrical, and I can tell you it's not easy. You make it look easy and I watch and think how I wish I had half as much talent as you. I did the best I could on every project I did. Sometimes the guy you work for doesn't want the best, he just wants it done so he can get paid. I've walked in your shoes and if you ever see me Criticize you, understand I know of where I speak. Keep telling the Never Dones and don't understand the processer that you'll get there. I've seen some custom projects in Graham's Shop take 2 or 3 years to finish. I've spent weeks just cutting out rust and putting in patches or replacement panels. These reality shows you see on Discovery Channel aren't real. Just to put a replacement quarter panel on a car takes a full day or more, 95% of that is just welding it one spot at a time so you don't warp the panel. None of that includes replacing any inner structure. Keep on doing it your own way Ian.

When you are recycling metal it stirs memories of my Dad. In the 50's thru the 70's Dad collected metal where he could find it to make things. He had a wheelbarrow with wood supports that broke and a tire that always lose air. He dug in the shed and found the bars from a model A that kept the axle straight and a steel wheel from a cultivator and mounted the wheel to the bars and made spacers to level the pan and welded together. I still have it today. We also made a trailer for a 12 ft boat I bought. The only thing I had to buy was the rollers for the keel. Keep being creative. Thanks.

I caught a glimse of the Zephyr in the background, and even in it's rusty patina it looks wicked..... I'm beginning to notice a similarity to all these builds... while they are all unique in their design there is a definate and recognizable common thread... Ians' artistic approach to the sculpture is evident in all current projects... It's getting to the point that, given a line of custom cars, I could pick out Ians' work... does anybody else see it or have I been staring at the screen too long? lolol... nice music and production on this video too... can't forget the editor who toils over the final product... the videos are evolving as well..... nice work guys.....

My brother bought a 1955 jaguar xk 140 roadster in 1964. It had a top frame which he stored in the garage. Dad was very creative and always built and made things in the garage, which included a grass catcher for our lawnmower(push type). Months later, brother wanted to put the convertable top up on the jag but couldn't find the frame. Yes.

As the other gentleman said, you’re Ian the Great Fabricator! All of us on this Earth 🌎 do not have the same thinking. You got to do it your way where you’re comfortable with yourself. The other individuals just can’t understand your way of thinking. When I was in college, like when I am studying both TV and radio are both on. For some reason that helps me to concentrate more versus no noise at all. I just can’t do it. I shared this to my grandkids and they have their own way to deal with it. LOL 😂😅. You got to remember that those people making comments, suggestions, etc. also have their own process when they are doing something. So no worries. They are your subscribers too.Hi Ms. Jamie

From the moment you drew that circle on the back I had this idea of dual latches top and bottom. Open the top so it pivots on the bottom side pins about 1/4 the way up. The top section has a seat back mounted on it. 2 L shaped braces that come from the top to slides with a seat bottom. So as you pull the top up the seat bottom is pulled back under the top for a rumble seat. If you unlatch the bottom it retracts those pivot pins in and pivots on those L bracket top pins and you have access to a trunk below and behind the seat base. Just a crazy dual function trunk. Open one way have trunk, open the other have rumble seat.

A backyard solution for bending the metal circle would be to put two pieces of wood under the outer edges, then put a board on top where you want the most bend and drive your car over it. Continue to add wood to the outer edges and repeating the process until you get the curve you want. Just a suggestion. Cool project!

I would get something column shaped and brace the top of that circle and push/weigh down the other end so the bend is more in the center of the hoop, not the ends. And I would also cut across the circle 1/3 top and 2/3 bottom for that jump seat, both pieces hinged for the seat and a slightly raised wind break.

G'day Ian from Australia. I am really enjoying your fabrication style. A lot of "eye" and little less of measure with tons of asthetics. Really appreciate the use of old tools that are fully functional, instead of the clinical tools from sponsors. Great work and I look forward to the evolution of the Caddy. Evan
