When you are working that sheet metal on the English wheel it seems like you need to protect your hands. Seems so easy to slice your hands on the edges.

with all those compound angle changes and elevation changes, would it b smart to use sum spray foam on the finished side (with Sylfaen or something to avoid sticking on surface, of course) then once foam dry, remove and take full measurements from the underneath of it? i know it seems like alot, but symmetry is the pure goal.

There is a famous Cobra story relevant to this situation. After the Soviet Union fell there were lots of high tech factories that shut down because there was no money for more military equipment like jets. So the computers. Scanners, C&C machines were mothballed. Meanwhile, in America, some car enthusiast wanted a brand new Cobra but hand hammering a body was really expensive. Somehow he found out about state of the art metal fabrication plants sitting idle and before you can say “dos vidanyo” a deal was cut. A real Cobra was procured, stuffed in a box and sent overseas to the aerospace factory. A week or two passed and then a message showed up in America. It said: “Which one do you want?” Confused a conference call took place. The fabricators explained that they had laser scanned the Cobra only to find that the two halves, right and left, were quite different in EVERY aspect including the rocker panel edges, one of which was 3/4” closer to the ground than the other. A command decision was made and a whole run of shiny new Cobra bodies were soon on the way to America.

Those shoes look an awful lot like my Skechers. If they are expect about 3 years out of them at 17K+ steps a day. On my 2nd pair of them! So hard to find comfy footwear in EEE width and they last ages! As far as the car I am sure you will get it sorted 😊👍🙏🙏

What you need is a laser and do you can center it on the center of the car and mark the floor would make your world a lot easier

How do you make the shapes symmetrical? Oh it's a process... Cardboard template here, tack a strap there... Bang in a panel here, tack a curveed sheet there. It's all about the experience! It's awesome to watch... Don't try this at home.... 😅😅😅

dont know if you know or not but you kinda want to watch videoing welding it will mess your camera up after a while . if you have a nice camera maybe use a welding helmet o block the lens . cameras can be very expensive. but hey a question . why dont you finish the other side before you move to something else ? like you just chopped the front fender why dint you chop he other side while it was all fresh in your mind ?

That is a good idea. As far as the camera....it would take a million times more work to do that, when Ian is flowing I don't want to stop him. I use an Iphone and this one is about a year old, I haven't noticed any dip in quality and if it dips, well looks like I will trade it in for a new phone.

@@fullcustomIan ok it takes a while but if you all watch mustie1 you will know he has been through about ten cameras over the years . and i never know what people use for cameras . i think phones work the best as well . there easy to get and have lots of options . another idea is to find a junk phone that you dont care about that still videos good . any way good luck .

As an pro collision teck our jobs are so different either way it's very complicated u put people's lives in our repair and modification. Modification. Ian, I felt bad for you as I watched this. The sense of comfort and confidence you usually project was somewhat missing. You seemed a bit uncomfortable with what you were doing. love how you show people stuff step by step...i try to do this and one side .like on my offroad mower i did..one side is always off,,i love to build some fender flares on my truck.well i did do rears but they turned out horrible..i guess thats what fiberglass for to make them look better.lol

I must have used a stitcher cord or a rope for measuring my middle of the hood what I do is I take one in to the other end especially if there's a long stitch accord and tape off the ends and then fold the stitch accord or the rope and that's the middle and I would take off the middle so I know where the middle is without actually having to take a ruler to it And I'm kind of curious you and bad Chad has the same tools to cut the metal that tool you're using doesn't have a feeling to it when you cut it I don't know every time I watch bad Chad I'm into weird kind of feeling and it seems like it would be a satisfy feeling when you cut through that metal I don't know if I'm splinting it right it's like filling a velvet you know it this has that satisfied feeling ⚒️👨‍🏭👍💫💥💫❤️‍🔥💯😎🛸

While some things are made out of "thin air" - The Fab Man uses thicker air. Elsewhere, CJ-DJ has sped up, cut up stopped and started the video so as to amplify the air density at the time of filming. Add to this, the music playing in their heads while working, then editing THOSE tunes into the sound track and - BOOM - symmetry from thick air enhanced by the sound track of fabrication. NICE ! Thanks for sharing

I have an old Air Cooled VW Bug. It's a convertible and the rear glass keep cracking on the edges. I drive it nearly every day, so I see that edge cracked glass all the time. Instead of trying to replace it AGAIN and it edge cracking AGAIN, I was thinking a big decal on it would look cool. Is there any way to get one of your UFO Monster Arm stickers big enough to put on that edge cracked window? The entire edge all the way around is spider cracked and I think it would look cool with your sign on it. Yes the car is heavily modified. The fenders and running boards are the super wide Mulhollands with the rectangle lights. It's about a low as you can get and still make it into my driveway. Pretty much nothing is stock on the car.
