This is a vintage fishing reel from the French brand Servofrein.
It comes from the 30/40's.
I would appreciate if someone could tell me if it's a fly fishing reel or just a classical casting.

Thank you for the content. It's nice to find actual restorations that don't look like they were soaking in vinegar and salt water for 2 months and full of rust. I really enjoyed this restoration.

Comme d'habitude, très belle restauration. Avec un moulinet pareil, les poissons (pardon les requins) n'ont qu'à bien se tenir... C'est devenu un très bel objet. Bravo !

I agree, delhog and condar. Not to mention the number of pets and other wildlife that are killed by lost fishing line, hooks, and nets each year. :( This fishing reel was beautifully done, though ... it looked a lot heavier than the reels today. Nice job! - Muddypaw 🐾

Awesome! I hawe a few fishing things after my grandfather, i love the feeling and quality of those old Reels. (I always throw back rare or endangered specimens, but i rarely kill any fish at all, i just love mother nature and the serenty deep in the forest).

Nice work. I like the jeweling idea, but think it would have looked way nicer if you polished it really shiny first. I can see the sandblasting scars through the jeweling. Other than that I love it. ❤
