One of my favorite horses and possibly my favorite race ever. Whirlaway comes from behind in dramatic fashion to continue his quest for the triple crown. The audio is choppy since i edited out a guy talking over the commentary.
I don’t believe that Eddie ever touched Whirlaway with the crop, all he had to do was loosen and shake the reins a little, and hang on for the ride of his life. Wow, what an awesome horse, truly one of the greatest racehorses of all time.💕🌹
Whirlaway and Secretariat are my two favorite thoroughbreds in history. Both were excellent racehorses and each one was excellent in his own inimitable way.
This horse is my hero. Not just because he's a great horse but because he's a great horse that ISN'T Secretariat. So sick of people comparing and commenting like Secretariat was the only horse to win the Triple crown. You want a real herculean horse call me when you find a horse that not only wins the Triple crown, but goes on to survive and win the graveyard of champions race.

Yeah, I've read stuff about him that says the Joneses thought he was hard to train, and not very smart. It was a problem with a lot of Blenheim II's offspring. But his talent was undeniable, and he was so much better than most of his contemporaries.
What is this commentary; the man said a mile and three-sixteenths is farther than the “Bluegrass run” (a mile and a quarter, or a mile and four-sixteenths).
