A quick video about the engine in my 1942 Lincoln Continental. Hopefully soon we'll get it back together and installed in the car. Thanks for watching!

Those Lincoln V12s were enigmatic - super crazy mix combining and pairing of siamese intake and exhaust ports: some were siamese, some are not. No wonder they were so low on power even besides being a flat head. Looks like the exhaust manifold has split and then been welded up at some time in the past.

liked your vidio power master makes a starter for yblocks that engages the ring gear from the engine side does not have the long bendix drive , Ihave adapted 2 of them for flathead tractors.

Thanks for the info. I definitely do need a new starter. I put a powermaster powergen 6 volt 90 amp alternator on it before I took it apart and really like the quality of their parts.

But after all of that it still poses the question. WHY??? did Henry persist with an engine out of dat when first released. Sidevalve with in the 12 twice as many exhaust hotspots through the block. OHV was tried and proven world wide and if not cheaper to build after the slew of warranty claims was defenotly cheaper. Even the A was very dated

I agree. The whole of Ford's cars up to 1948 were built this way. Henry Ford was very stubborn about it. They literally had to wait till he passed away before they really changed to an up to date design.

Progress?

Yes. I'm hoping to post some new videos soon. Progress with this car has been painfully slow due to the mismatched and damaged parts that were on it when I got it.

@MyWillypilly Thanks! It takes patience sometimes but worth it at the end.
