Addendum: There were a couple of things puzzling me while I was shooting this video, one thing was the end that I "thought" was the top, slotted inside the body of the unit, whereas the end that I "thought" was the bottom, had a flange that overlapped the body - it would make much more sense if the unit was the other way round, with the overlapping mirror unit exposed to the outside to stop water penetrating. The second thing was the handle that someone told me hooked over some sort of bar - looking again, I think this is purely a handle, and the whole unit is pulled downwards into the tank and a replacement pushed back up into the bracket and locked in place with the knurled knob. So when you watch the video, just visualise the whole think the other way round and it'll all make more sense.

Reasonably dramatic reconstruction with the antar floating around but then the Field Marshall started making high speed passes and turned everything up to 11!

You can almost hear the pop pop pop of that Field Marshall - I'm expecting a call from Mr Spielberg any time now!!!

As you can probably imagine, a lot of planning and preparation went into those reconstructions!!!!!! Cheers for watching.

That was a nice short but interesting one . My best mates dad used to have a small military museum , he has all sorts of bits like this thing that I’m sure you’d like . Aircraft instruments, weapons , uniforms, vehicle parts , documents etc etc

Hi Conrad, I do love going round a military museum, not that I particularly collect military stuff over any other sorts of stuff, but it's always interesting to see the gear they used.

@@GrumpyTim you’d have loved to see Jim’s little museum. Unfortunately I helped dismantle it, empty the museum and adjoining shooting & fishing shop that he also ran… he had suffered some health issues and couldn’t continue running them . He’s actually much better now but the bank wouldn’t play nice unfortunately. The stuff is all safely stored though… so someone will probably get to see some of it again in the future

That's good that the stuff is stored safely, I'm sure it'll be seen again one day. It must be very hard running/funding a small museum, I always admire people who manage to do that.

Cheers ohjajohh, it was something a little different. I'm trying to do more regular videos again, but I don't know how long it'll last.

I did like the reenactments... It would have been hell in those tanks.

Cheers Ben. The tanks always look like amazing and fun play things when you see them at shows, but the reality would have been very different when they were doing their intended job.

I'm guessing that you could be chewing on the fumes at times too, although I have had a ride in an FV432 with the lids closed one time, and I don't remember it being that fume filled, so maybe it would vary depending on how well the engine bay was sealed from the crew compartment.
