I will give it ONE episode. I love Yellowstone. It is a great show. I also grew up a Phillies fan, so I love Tug McGraw. So I trusted both Yellowstone and the Tugger's kid and watched their 18...76...or whatever. They used the baseline of the Costner show I love, and presented us with a 10 episode chick flick. I am not suffering through another one of those. I will give this new one ONE episode to prove itself. If so much as one broad pulls out a diary...I'm out! PS: I did not even know until now that there is a 1923. So I am going to give that one a chance too but...same rules.
I just straight up refuse to watch any of the sequels right now because Sheridan will probably not finish any of those either. I don't want to be left hanging! Either let Yellowstone run its course or don't expect everyone to embrace any more of the sequels or spin offs.
Kurt Russel is a legend, stoked to see him in the Yellowstone universe, he will be perfect as a Dutton fighting the heinous modern world tooth and nail. I hope some of the 1923 actors appear in it with movie magic to age them.
It would be good to see Taylor Sheridan complete something he starts it, leaves everyone hanging, then announces it will end..... Yellowstone prime example, then same for 1923, if you start something then finish it properly this I don't see being done properly
Taylor Sheridan has said in a few interviews he likes for those watching to be able to imagine where the story goes after the last episode. Frustrating yet interesting take on writing.
Absolutely agree with you Chris , Taylor Sheridan is VARY slow at writing and SHOULD finish one show series before starting another because of the risk of losing it's very faithful followers like my self, it is way too much to try and keep track of and makes no sense getting everyone confused!!!!
I want to get all the prequels when it’s all over with and watch them from the very beginning and end with Yellowstone. I have all the Yellowstones and the set with Tim McGraw. I love them. Just to far between seasons. I wish Yellowstone would continue with Rip and Beth taking over the ranch and let it go on forever. Haha
I would love for Kacey and Monica to run the every day workings of the ranch. But keep Beth and Rip on hand as the enforcer and the financial brains. And even let them take over the 4 Sixes in a power grab that Beth initiates without any one knowing it until it happens. That would put the fire that someone said the 4 Sixes would need since Jimmy said it was cow hands doing the same job every day with no surprise ambushes. Beth sure would put the 6’s in a cyclone spin!
I don't think I will start watching any more of Taylor Sheridan series. I watched 1883 and it was great, I binge watched the first 3 seasons of Yellowstone and then watched the 4th season but didn't feel the writing was as good as any of the other seasons. But now what he has done to season 5 isn't forgivable. If he and the studio were having trouble with Costner and he wanted out, just find an interesting way to write him out, other series have done that without messing the whole show up. I started watching 1923, but even with the great actors it dragged so I stopped, Sheridan seems like one more guy whose dreams of the "Sheridan Universe" got so much greater than his ability to deliver.
Mike……do agree with your assessments almost 100 percent. I too almost stopped 1923 due to draggy beginnings. Did finish it, however and it does develop & was quite good. And “they say” Season 2 will conclude it so…… think about getting back to it……even if they don’t do as said and do a season 2 (I ‘m over Yellowstone as, they’ve ruined it)……1923 is pretty darn good, imho………and I loved 1883 😉
I agree with you. The writing has gone downhill and Sheridan has dragged show to the dirt. I'm done with anything Sheridan cause he lacks delivery time. He also has a nudity problem, so families will protect their children from watching his show too. I say Sheridan needs to retire cause he has truly lost focus. If I was to guest, he's OCD
I'm curious, but I would actually rather see him focus on Yellowstone and 1923 for now. I think the current situation around Yellowstone, the danger that it will be cancelled after season 5, is also because Sheridan is getting more and more bogged down instead of concentrating on the main series first.
I can't wait to see Kurt Russell, he's one of me faves. But I hate that everything we've already started/seen is on hold, and 1944 comes in 2024... too much downtime for fans, not enough consistency between all of the shows. Seems maybe Taylor has too many projects going at once?
Taylor Sheridan needs to learn how to finish what he starts. I feel jerked around. We thought there was going to be a second season to 1923 where Spencer and Alex find each other in Montana, where he deals with the evil rich guy having paid the taxes on the ranch, and the sheep herder. If the first 8 shows of 1923 is all there is, Sheridan spent too much time on the obligatory perversion with the hookers. He should have had 10 shows with some closure instead of leaving us hanging. Great writing isn’t great when the author leaves books half undone. That alone will make me skip the rest of his shows. The man might be talented, but he’s ADD level disorganized.
Would love to see Kurt Russel in 1944 but we are putting the cart before the horse. Taylor Sheridan has so far failed to finish the current seasons of Yellowstone and 1923.......so we shall see.
I for one am not gonna complain about the end of Yellowstone. It's run it's course to be honest. I'm all for the McConaughey sequel, the rest of 1923, and the forthcoming 1944 and 1965 as well as the Bass Reeves backstory. Spilled milk isn't worth crying over..
Enough with Yellowstone.... it was fun, but I'm tired of waiting on it, then.... uh it's over.... but here's another version.... but uhhhh only 3 eps.... but here's a new one.... forget it. They messed up
Kurt Russell was also a professinal baseball player. In Portland Or, his dad owned the team and made a series of baseball training videos! They made a movie about it…. Battered Bastards of Baseball. Look it up! It’s worth watch n
Wow, I can't wait to watch Kurt Russell. I'm so happy they chose him to do that in the 1944 I think that is an awesome decision. I look forward to seeing him and watching the series.
So far, i have watched all of 1923. Hope there is a second season. I have adored Ford since 1977 and he's the reason I wanted to watch it. I have taken 1923 to my heart. I just get a giggle when I think that Dalton was Bond and Ford was Han/Indy. I would be very interested in 1944 because I'm a WW2 buff and have been watching Russell since the days of "The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes".
Kurt Russell is an excellent choice - I went to elementary school with him in Thousand Oaks before he started attending school on set. I knew him again in Ventura during some theater group productions and when he met Goldie - that young man was love struck. It was darling to see.
Sheridan should have started with 1923. Then do the following sequels in order after that. This would have been a better story line linking everything together. Yellowstone would be a bigger hit with a larger audience. To many irons in the pot causes issues. That seems like what is happening here with Sheridan.
The irony EVERY show associated with Yellowstone produced by Sheridan is wildly successful but some internet troll has a better way it should’ve been done 😂
I hope to see the shows that have been started finished before new one’s go ahead, it’s irritating to the point of just calling it quits on anything from Sheridan , his eyes are much bigger than his stomach!
I hope to see all Dutton family and life as they know it continue.... meaning new births, deaths of the old and a future for the Duttons...to bring them up to the modern Duttons...like i said new people....good and bad....just like Yellowstone! The first season.......
What the heck is going on? 1923 is one of the best shows there is, and this is making me mad. Although I cannot wait to see Kurt Russell again as I just love him, but I want 1923 to continue for a few more seasons. Yellowstone could have continued for another season as well but 1923????? Come on, Sheridan, what are you doing?
I love both dramas and can't wait to see this one !!!!❤❤❤ now will it air on Paramount or Peacock or Netflix I have them because I watched it on peacock and paramount
I can't wait to see it stuff like that I like Yellowstone and I like and my 1883 and I should buy 1944 my dad would have been 10 years old back then my mom would have been three Express on my parents when they were children hard times my mother's family had three children dad's family had seven are these days to put food on the table these days have gases these days before my dad died he said things would be hard I like the series of Yellowstone keep making
I'm waiting for Yellowstone 2044 when the Duttons transition to raising laboratory grown meat and insects, and deal with the eruption of the Yellowstone Caldera. A Bill Gates cameo role would be great.
I'm soooo excited...I can't wait! I hope you have show shows available during the Christmas season which because an annual event from my son's and and I! Please, say you will???
Sheridan in my opinion has just spread himself too thin trying to do all these shows nearly at the same time.Writing more than one series has to be extremely taxing even for the most talented of writers. Mr. Sheridan being no exception I'm sure. And we all want the quality of the shows we love not to suffer either.
Be patient, this level of brilliance is difficult to manage and control and I m certain Taylor's a bit freaked out when ideas come for different shows and not in an logical order. He has to have the time to figure all thia out and deal with production schedules, costuming and so much more.
This could be endless. Kinda like CSI, the just pick a city and start a new series. Pretty sure the entertainment business is grinding to a stand still. Nothing is new anymore, just a rehash of something we've already seen.
1883 was only suppose to be one season and 1923 only two. I’ve loved it so far. You have to watch in order to appreciate it. After those you should watch Yellowstone and then you’ll understand it better. 😊
Now that Sheridan has decided to abruptly end Yellowstone I'm sure it won't be what we had hoped for. It sounds like he's just going to dump it in just a half a season. It could have gone on for several seasons more if he'd just concentrate on one thing at a time. And with Paramount putting all the sequels on their streaming channel, we are supposed to pay extra to watch. For this reason I haven't watched much of the sequels.
Yeah that sucked...I fell in love with that show and being older and not wealthy or tech.savy I missed the last episode of Yellowstone. Couldn't t figure out where they showed it
I am so over Sheridan! He promises and doesn’t deliver . 1883 was the best show ever on TV but nothing has come close to it. I was looking forward to 6666 but nothing is ever said about it now. I won’t invest anymore time on his shows.
I like Kurt Russell, he is an excellent actor, when it finally comes out i will watch it. I love Yellowstone, i would have preferred it to continue with a different actor. I'm just sick of waiting for these programmes to start. Taylor Sheridan want's to get his act together and finish them
I was a big fan of Yellowstone, then 1883. How about finishing a series, Yellowstone, instead of cutting it short? Now we haven't even got season 2 of 1923 and w=they're announcing 1944. Again, finish a series and then move to the next.
So you highlight Kurt Russell's filmography, because he's about to be in what we can call a western, yet you didn't mention Tombstone? Who wrote this? Also in 1944, it wasn't out of the norm for women to be in high positions, to hold wealth, or power. So why would that aspect be particularly "exciting?" Nice political implementation to help keep the narrative alive........ We're talking about 1944, not 1801.
Maybe just maybe Taylor Sheridan should finish Yellowstone instead of dragging it out before starting more shit he won’t finish or drag it out forever. Fed up and disgusted
Let it go. Taylor has lost so many, confusing them about the Dutton family, etc. I stopped watching Yellowstone into season 4. Same Ole' stuff. Now you don't know who's who
Its not "exciting to think about" Men being conscripted(and otherwise dooped) by the millions and sent to their death, with women having to fill those roles, was the beginining of the end of it all. Sorry to be the doomsayer.
