Even in 1980 l myself use to purchase kirana for household. Some prices I remember Sugar 2 RS 50 paise 1 kg Ground nut oil 7.50 1kg Some times I use to go with my father to school. He fills petrol in scooter. Petrol was 4 RS a liter

In previous time , keeping a radio was not as simple as just buy and enjoy. Radio service was subscription based same as the satellite tv / dth of these days. Every buyer of a radio was given a book like a passbook which was actually a passbook of your radio. The subscriber had to visit the post office to pay the subscription fee in form of stamp . User had to buy stamp of some value which was actually the fee you pay to the governing body, and paste that stamp on the booklet to keep a record of the fee paid
