@@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV I am proud of any company that does its level best to keep American precious steel and iron on our American roads and highways. Pull a freshly completed 1967 C10 into a gas station to fill up. Within 5 minutes, people come and pour out stories of their uncle Jake with 4 fingers from WW-II, or their Grandfather they loved taught them to drive in a farm field, and on, and on. This is motor oil in the veins of men & women have not had this memory of an elder loved one in their life in years…It simply comes flooding back! When you see total strangers, a 55 year old banker who wells up tears as they talk, or a 64 year old Dr who works with young kids, but donates time for veterans because of an uncle he lost to depression and honesty, a thousand other stories like this from people who connect a simple pickup truck to a 4 year period of their life they can not unsee or forget. The tell you the year first as they approach from behind. They say with a raised volume “Is that a 67?” I reply yes, but a few changes but period correct. At that point, get comfy, because they are going to tell you THEIR story. I am fine with that on the surface and deep inside. It is not showing off, but providing a physical spark of memory, to a total stranger! Somehow, without asking, you become a conduit for this persons past, to come out with unfiltered emotion. I have not completed my restoration as I had plans to replace the oversized camshaft and granny low trans with 2 PTO flange panels, and an entire 2003 Tahoe was dragged into my backyard without notice to harvest what I needed or wanted. It stuck in my brain how people react to a small peace of Americana that touched peoples hearts and minds to make a visceral reaction! It is unbelievable! Brothers is helping people bring people into a time machine, some at age 12, re-living a person they don’t think about everyday, but this triggers a wonderful warm time in their life from decades ago. It doesn’t have to be perfect, the next best paint job in town or just 59 year old patina, but they can’t resist talking about the memories! For that, Dave Welch, Brothers, I thank you all and Gods speed to riches in your heart. DK, ASE master tech since 1978, retired and disabled, living in pain, but have the power of classic American steel and the past that goes with that! It is a responsibility that a person in the upper Midwest must prepare themselves for! Please, take this and print. You just have to send Dave to help me for 5 to 8 months. I have tools, body and paint supply products, just a tiny garage while falling behind on house and yard. 2 year in a row I was not able to plant a garden in our house since 1993. My God, 30+ years in at this address. Wow.
