This is an original 1949 Packard. The car has had a paint job to it's original color, but the rest of the car is as original as it can be. The interior has never been restored. What you see is original upholstery and carpet, etc. The car runs great. It looks like the engine may have had a rebuild at some point. The intake appears to have been painted.
Check it out at Garrett Classics in Lewisville, Texas. Call Dave at 214-213-7072 and be sure to like us on FB

Beautiful car. I have the 1950 model, it's a lighter green and the chrome runs across the center of the body.

1948-1950 Packards certainly had the outstanding build quality and engineering of the pre-war models, but most agree these "bathtub" models are an acquired taste. Packard sold a lot of them to their loyal base, but all car makes were selling a lot of cars (Hudson, Nash, Kaiser-Frazer) because of the post-war boom. It I had to pick, it would have to be a high end deluxe '50 convertible.

These I believe are the best built post war Packards. In looking at period pictures with Packards parked along with other cars, these stand out as real beauties. I have a 1948 Deluxe Sedan with around 17000 miles found in Oregon. It was originally purchased in Nampa, Idaho. It is all original. I have used OEM parts, except for hoses and belt. Rear springs and shocks were replaced with parts made to Packard specs. It came with the Packard labeled belt still on the car. The model offered appears to be one of the best I have seen for sale. Bids are way to low.

Thank you for the comments. We agree, it is a great car, and yes the bids are really low. We aren't sure why. I need to get it on some other sites.

We got some of these down under in RHD, my local Pharmacist had one, hired a neighbors garage to store it and only appeared to take it out on sundays, I suspect they might? [unknown?] have been 6 cylinder maybe 8, too young at the time to ask questions, then he blew it in '59 by buying a 4 door BelAir.

@@shawniriel5962 Bit of a come down buying the Chevy, Don't know what engines Packard used at the time, 8 might have been the base model?,

This looks to be painted OD and may have been a staff car for a flag officer. The army used Packards for this purpose.

In rough but restore-able condition $2-5K, fully restored to showroom condition about $15-20K or a tad more.
