Jonathan, I always love your vehicles, but the interior on this car is above and beyond anything you have done before! Beautiful does not even begin to describe it!
One of my favorite builds! I think the Derelicts are such an awesome idea; beautiful vintage and modern tech merging together to make an amazing piece of functional art.
Thank you for contributing what you have to the custom auto industry. You and your team are just fantastic, I really enjoy these videos keep them comming! Thanks!

Outstanding work reflecting many years of skill and appreciation of the automobile as art.
I can't say enough how much I admire your work especially with the derelicts! I am a huge fan and I think you're a genius. I share your opinion too, the '50 Buick is awsomeI
Wow, you know your stuff and your passion to revive these old girls ( I call them girls ) is terrific. The manner that you present the finish product with the history the cool models you come across leaves me by the side of the road with two thumbs up as you drive by brother. Much respect.
I love everything you do at Icon but my personal favorites are the Derelicts. I think that they are a step above everything else from a creativity standpoint.
My uncle had a 2 door hard top one of these. It was faded perfect black. Had the antenna in the center of the roof. That car was so old school gangster looking.
I was never able to figure out what this guy meant by end dices when he was talking about the gauges in his various videos. It finally dawned on me that he was just mispronouncing indices (in-duh-seez). Now it makes sense. Absolutely love what Icon is doing with the vehicles, though and would love to own one of these gems some day.
I had a ‘54 Buick 2-door given me in 1967 by a friend of my Dad. Outstanding road car. Bi put in a ne W/S, exhaust and some seat covers before I went into the Marines in ‘68. My family was living in Bangor and my Dad and I were living in Chicopee, MA. Great road car; enormous in-line six. Very smooth and gas was around 24 cents a gallon. Loved it
It's funny how at the beginning he says that he's doing a professional video and it shows that he turns left... then the next shot is "redone" and he turns right. In all honesty, I love these videos. I recently bought a 50' Super and it needs some help in a couple of spots... wish I could get his help. Awesome work!
So cool..buddy ...I forgot to close my mouth through out the video....such a beautiful car become lively and so active. It will last for generations...
Love this car, and channel! Thanks so much for the content!! I’ve since finding your channel, all but stopped looking for new cars to fulfill my “dream car” wishes. 😁
Another excellent example of the Icon innovative craftsmanship and brilliant execution. I wish I had the means to have a Icon FJ 40 and pick a Derelict to have built to enjoy. The hardest part of owning Icon vehicles is which one to drive. Great job.
Icon,, you rock...an extremely well presented video. Your no nonsense approach and real world comment makes me smile. Keep it up. "Vive" the derelict ..
the way you've done these over but kept the body style, wow! they should be around for many moons. my uncle had a early 50's roadmaster sedan, my dad was a chevy guy.
The interior looks like the inside of an old hunting lodge. I just want to sit in it with a pipe and a good book... and maybe a pint, after the driving is done for the day.
I'm sure that these cars will be around for a very long time. It's the best of both worlds, the elegant style of the old cars and the modernity of the mechanicals. These cars are rolling artwork. Congratulations on your vision, and for NOT wrecking these old beautys with unnecessary bodywork. .
I watch this once a week to begin the weekend with a grin. Maybe someday I'll be able to commission one of these. "Dear Santa, I've been a real good boy..."
Again, a nice endeavor! In an earlier video (the tour of the ICON facility) you called that two-tone green "Derelict to be" 1948 Pontiac a 1947. I was a little confused, but I took your word for it. My parents owned a two-tone 1948 just like that back in '53 or '54. We moved to California and he traded it to someone in Southern California. It sure brings back memories!
i would put you in the same 'class", meaning that as a compliment, as Horacio Pagani. Different vehicles of course but design ethics, attention to detail etc. ....superb. Leoanrdo Da Vinci said "art and science are two disciplines that must walk together hand in hand"...i know Horacio follows that and i sense you do too. All the best from Sydney, Australia.
Love these videos and love the cars, such a different approach, almost the ultimate "sleepers" well done, I still think the Silver Cloud has the most appealing sound track though!
I agree Jonathan, this one is still my favorite also. The finest leather seats ever. Seriously, the only problem with it is that it's not mine. Please don't stop doing what you do,ever.
As soon as I cash my winning lottery ticket in I will be winging it from rainy Manchester to your magic making premises in sunny California to purchase one of these custom “derelicts”. And yes I could see the thought bubble over the car you burned off at the end, the guy thinking “ UFO’s HERE ??”
My roommate at the U of I in the 50's owned this exact car, even same blue. I remember getting caught in the rain and trying to put up the top and windows at the same time. Hydraulic system died with top half up.
I love this car the 50 buick has the greatest waterfall grill I own a 50 chevy business cpe chopped and i looked everywhere for those grill bars ijust for the hell of it had a new Desoto grill for dads merc put it up in my grill section and terrible so glad i didn't find that buick grill it was a fortune saved in my car to much chrome i wound up using the top of a back bumperet off a 51 chevy and it looks like its floating but i didn't c the hood lifting sideways that was also a cool part of your car but anyway its my favorite one yet like a 53 skylark would be nice and that body is amazing im in pa and we have clean cars but that thing just looks sounds and seems to move out great job thanks for sharing
One day I will have enough cash to get something this guy has built the old Rolls is still the coolest car I have ever seen practical and so much fun I’d get a manual transmission and I’d be worried about the body continuing to deteriorate but that’s what I’d get all the answers to from icon
I apologize...I called you arrogant in a prior comment on a prior video. You are..but the more I see your work, the more I see why. At least you try to be humble. I'll do better and hold my mouth right. You are an artist and produce masterworks. I...do not. I applaud you sir and I'm sorry for being an ass. This buick is amazing. You stand alone in my book. Again...sorry for that.
WONDERUL, AMAZING! Every video i see from your cars and projects shock me, i love them! As a young classic car enthusiast, i'm 21, this is like something from another world, just having finished my studies i'm a mechanic from an official Citroën garage in Catalonia, i own an old 2 cylinder Citroen, a '71 spanish dodge dart and a '66 Seat (fiat) 1500, all of them in quite bad shape as i have no money to keep them running in good condition but they're my whole life. You know, my dream was taking the '66 Seat and doing what you do with your icon cars, but knowing i can't do it for money and bad spanish legislations to homologate any modifications in my car have made me stop dreaming... Its sad being unable to achieve a dream if you really love cars this way, but the fact of sitting in front of my own computer and seing someone has done it in such a succesful way, watching your car's details, their way to move on the road, their ride, their power, their comfort.... Extremely simple: No words! Thanks to share your amazing work to the world.
I swear that the Icon builds are the most interesting cars out there. Yeah, we need more EV versions. But stuff like this one cannot be duplicated and they are so streetable :D
