In case you are keeping Track this is Video # 123 of Classic Car ChitChat Videos!
I hope my Classic Car ChitChat videos make you smile. I do them in my spare time because I truly love cars and my intentions are simply to honour the beautiful cars I get to see and to really understand the passion and love of the vehicle by the driver (or caretaker as Jay Leno would say) of the car. I also understand too that my videos perhaps lack the polish calibre of great RU-vidrs like: Doug DeMuro, Scotty Kilmer, and of course my favourite Supercar Blondie. I also know that I can’t even come close the quality & finish you get from the likes of Jeremy Clarkson and the boys at Top Gear. I think they use a little fancier equipment than my little iPhone… LOL
Mission Statement:
My Objective through creating these videos is to shine the spotlight on people who love their vehicles whether it be a car, motorcycle, or even a bicycle…. Bottom line is if it has wheels and you love it then let’s show that passion to the world!
Equipment Used:
Camera
- Just an iPhone SE (Nothing fancy - which proves anyone can use whatever you have handy to make a video… you don’t need really expensive equipment)
- I also use Insta 360X2 which is perhaps one of the best investments I have made and allows me to capture some really cool 360 degree views and also creates a “drone like” effect with the invisible selfie stick attachment.
Gimbal - DJI OM4 - For that ultra-smooth cinematic look. (To be honest... still not quite sure how to use it but one day I will figure it out!)
Audio - Rode Wireless GO II (I gotta be honest… this is really the biggest investment that was made… I wish there was a cheaper option but after the first couple of videos I soon realized that audio quality is important and hopefully better than the onboard mic on the iPhone!
Contact Details: If you have any questions or just want to chat you can reach me through all the (non-traditional) typical ways through the following:

Email - Kevin@ClassicCarChitChat.Com
If you have read this far, then I thank you. As always, I truly appreciate your “thumbs-up”, and by leaving your comments it demonstrates to me that I managed to get you involved and hopefully made you smile. Most importantly when you subscribe to my channel then you are truly acknowledging my effort to help share with others like you my passion and love for “all things that have wheels” and honouring the people who take care of them.
Thank You
Kevin

I'm 65 and just came into possession of a 52, given to me by my father in law. He did a frame up restoration 35 years ago but put 60,000 miles on it since, so its in need of a lot of chassis, engine and drive train work. I wasn't sure I was young enough for that type of effort, but now I now I am! Thanks for posting this.

Opahagie, First of all thank you so very much for watching my videos and subscribing to my channel I truly appreciate it. My intention for the videos is to allow "ordinary" people who love cars an opportunity to speak about their car and why that car means so much to them. I feel the same way.. No more whining as I get in and out my little MG.. If Jacques taught us anything here it's keep on doing what we love until we can't.

User, First of all thank you so very much for watching my videos and subscribing to my channel I truly appreciate it. My intention for the videos is to allow "ordinary" people who love cars an opportunity to speak about their car and why that car means so much to them. Out of curiosity.. What is the issue with the connection. Jacques does not have a computer but I can share your knowledge with him.

Classic car, of all the videos you have made this one is by far my favorite. I can't believe how active this wonderful man is and such a talented machinist to have built this car without a workshop manual takes talent and skull well past my abilities. Fantastic video and so inspiring. Thank you for sharing.

I wanted an MGTC, but they are just to expensive, so I bought a cherry mint Honda Shadow Spirit motorcycle instead for 1/20th the price and got my spoked wheel fix on. A lot faster and more reliable than an MG for sure. Believe me, it's got way more chrome on it than I want to polish... Young people just can not afford to blow $40K on an old hard to find car with hard to find parts that runs and sounds and shifts like a tractor.

Aerobaticdancing(love the name) I truly get it. Classic cars as beautiful as they are can often get very expensive especially if attempting to keep them as original as possible. That being said many also go the root of restomod and call it their own. With respect to the bike.. this would be my choice too.. especially with the reliability and the chrome.. just stunning. I also wanted to take a moment to personally thank for taking the time to watching my videos, leaving a comment and for subscribing to my channel I truly appreciate it. My intention when creating these videos is to showcase not only the beautiful car but give the owner an opportunity to share their story, love and passion for their car. Thanks again Kevin.

modern equivalent for horsepower is about 54. the host misstated the value @ 21:50. with the standard final drive ratio at 5.125, the car is already over 3000rpm at 40mph. a reasonable prolonged top speed is about 45.

Blade runner (love the handle), First of all thank you so very much for watching my videos and subscribing to my channel I truly appreciate it. My intention for the videos are not to be "how to" videos (I think there are amazing videos made by others far qualified than me) instead my focus is to create a platform where "ordinary" people who love cars get an opportunity to speak about their car and why that car means so much to them. Thank you for the information, I will certainly share with the owner. However at over 90 he is so inspiring and still has his mental skills. I am 30 years younger than him and can't remember what I had for breakfast 😊 Kevin

My first car was a 50 TD that had been modified which I proceeded to put back to as stock as I could. Had a lot of fun in that car. I believe the serial number was 1314.

Jim, that’s amazing. It’s hard not to love the TD. I still watch a lot of the British shows like Father Brown just to see the old classic cars.

Wonderful video with one of the last "gentlemen" left. Beautiful car which was fortunate to have Jacques as its care taker. I, too, owned a 1950 TD.. I bought it in 1965 for $200. My TD went another direction than Jacques, it was prepped for Bonneville Salt Flats. My first car was a 1953 TD Mark II bought in 1964 from a Brit.. Geoff Green He was a "car guy" and a machinist who emigrated to the US and owned British Automotive Imports in Monterey, Calf. He won Pepple Beach Concours in Class with a Rolls Royce and also Hillsborough with another Rolls. Geoff and I remained friends until his passing 2 years ago at the age of 100 plus 3 weeks. He was still spry and active. RIP. PS.. I currently have a 1963 MGB Tourer. My 30th Brit car and 7th MG. Liked and subscribed.

Jeff, could you possibly check off any more boxes! Wow, that is truly impressive and you certainly have a passion for our beloved MG. If I ever make it out to your neck of the woods, I would be honoured to meet you and perhaps make a video of your MG. I also wanted to take a moment to personally thank for watching my videos and subscribing to my channel I truly appreciate it. As you may have seen in my videos that my intention is to showcase not only the beautiful car and really give the owner of the car (the caretaker as Jay Leno rightly says) the opportunity to share their story, love and passion for their car. This lovely man reminds me of my grandpa who was always tinkering with his old cars in the garage and kept goin into his late 80's. I love seeing this type of passion for cars and may he continue doing so for many, many more years. I still can't get over how fit he is for being 90. It must be all that fresh air in the Netherlands and Canada.
