Well done boys!! Will you be in charge of refurbishing the whole interior and the rest of the cosmetic things? I'd like to watch it fully finished. Grat work you've done. Kudos!

lets talk about progress this car is a prime example of how it shows us sometimes it is not always good their is not much you could not repair yourself on this car i wish i could explain how good i felt when i rebuilt my 1st starter and turned the key and the engine came to life seeing this brought back those memory's ty gentlemen these things they call cars now will never measure up to vehicles like this

I have a 37 216 out of a half ton. I had the head rebuilt and I had the clutch rebuilt. But the block has a badly pitted cylinder. I had all this done many years ago and never ran the engine. I've since shifted gears and I am not using the engine. I would gladly sell part or all of it to anyone interested. Otherwise it's going to scrap metal. I have a new Master Cylinder and new brake shoes as well.

That engine looks like the insides of a Chevy 216. The 235 was sold with the automatic transmission for passenger cars starting in 1950. The 216 finished in 1953.

Engineering at its finest! I glued pan rail gaskets to pan, and greased block side. Same with end gaskets. In case pan has to come off. I pulled pan after running it for a while and cleaned it again. Dawson gets to hang out and do cool stuff!! Way to go! Weld in your initials into the trophys. I refuse to use that carb soak. 50/50 pine sol works and stinks way better. Dont know if they are still going, Beacon Auto Electric was good way back when. The rad repair, easy stuff for guys that know what they are doing,i always wanted to knock one apart. I have a couple here i want to practice on. I see Curtis’s Barracuda, hope to see stuff happen with it.

Old gauges use a lower ohm range than new sending unit unless bought for exact application . There are converters available on amazon. The old dip oil system works but cannot take RPM. I am trying to remember but I don't think the old engines used as much rad pressure. Good show , cool old car !

Great job on the old '51. Sounds great and looks like it drives really well. Great starter for someone just getting started with old cars. Thanks for sharing. Be safe and stay well.

Nice job on the revamp lads. Driving this one should put a grin on the face of the owner.

That tube arrangement in the sump feeds a jet of oil into the scoops on the bigend caps dont fuck with it too much unless you have access to the special alignment tool to set it up again, they aint actually dippers but inlets for the oil jets
