* THE VEHICLE IS LOCATED IN KITTERY, MAINE
This is a 1951 Mercury Eight Coupe that has 76,178 miles on the odometer and 5,000 miles since completion of an extensive restoration. She is finished in a deep and rich Black paint and has a near perfect Gray velour interior. This car is stunning and overall offers her new owner a truly beautiful classic Mercury experience.
As you can see from the pictures and the video, this 1951 Mercury Eight Coupe is in outstanding condition. In addition to the body and interior restoration, the current owner (of 15 years) has spent about $10,000 on the mechanical aspects of the car. In 2008, the engine was completely rebuilt (original block), Offenhauser heads were installed along with a light CAM. She has dual Holley carburetors, dual exhaust and headers and Mallory ignition; suffice to say she moves out!
This 1951 Mercury Eight Coupe has great chrome and brightwork and has a magnificent look to her. She runs and drives perfectly and has been meticulously maintained. If you think you might be in the market for a classic Mercury, do not let the chance to own this one pass you by. We have priced this car to provide you the best deal on a car of this caliber; if you need financing assistance, just let me know.

My grandpa had one of these when I was about 5, right before he got sick. It was a beast and an absolutely amazing car. In fact it looked exactly like this one, except for his wheels were black and white, so no red parts.

A few bucks more than a Ford and a few less than a Lincoln. They sold well and became an American icon.

This is my favorite of the '49 through '51 Mercurys; the styling foundation of the '49 taken to the n'th degree with substantial chrome additions achieving a front end dollar grin look. Thanks so much for not mutilating it with some bizarre custom work that just massively detracts from the original and correct intent of the designers and engineers. The engine upgrades are tasteful and appropriate without changing the original layout of the drivetrain. I thought I noticed an overdrive handle under the instrument panel on the right side of the steering wheel.

James Dean's ride in "Rebel Without a Cause." James Dean, Natalie Wood and a '50s Merc. Slip in a CD with "Rebel Rouser" playing along and cruise the drive-ins.

It has a standard transmission, because it has a "Merc-o-Matic" on the trunk on the right, if it is equipped with the optional automatic transmission, or "Overdrive" on the trunk on the right, if equipped with an overdrive.

The Front And Rear Badging Aren't That Expensive To Replace, Or Could Even Be SELF PAINTED To Look MUCH BETTER. And Allen Jackson's "Mercury Blues" Would Have Been The More Appropriate Music To Be Using As Well...
