Very cool spark tester that's new to me the truck's looking great with minimal issues, I would of concerned myself over a possible static spark when scoping the gas tank maybe I worry too much

The borescope tube is coated with a type of plastic and it may prevent sparks. But the truck is in good shape, no major rust nor holes.

Your best bet for the oil pan plug hole may be to use a Heli Coil. They have always worked exceedingly well for me. Be sure to leave no metal chips behind in the pan... Remember, safety first. I know you have the wheels off so you can do the brakes, but I would really put them back on until you are ready to address the brakes. It just gives you a bit more protection in case the truck drops. If you have never had a truck drop on you while working underneath, it is not fun.

Yes, I agree with PRjimc please keep those tires on for safety purposes until you're ready to do the brakes.

Thanks. The brakes are done and the wheels were put in several days ago. It's turning out great.

Super nice truck and in very good condition. With the care you are giving it, I'm sure it will last another 72 years. You can try a heat gun on the kingpin zerk to get it to take the grease.

Thanks AC. This is a great tip and one I did not think of. I do have a nice heat gun and will try it when I'm under the truck again. Thanks.

Double check in your service manual regarding the front springs. You are looking at the second leaf and I'm almost positive that it only wraps around the first leaf halfway.

You are correct. I first noticed it a couple weeks ago when Hagerty (on RU-vid) showed putting a front spring on a 1950 Advanced Design with the second leaf wrapping around only about half way. I found it curious because none of the springs from known companies online show that particular feature on the images. But it makes me happy that mine are not broken after all. Will show it on a future video. Are yours the same?

Ovi, if you can’t find a decent replacement for that oil pan, I can weld a new bung on the pan for you.

Thanks Aaron. I may ask for your help next week if I get stuck with a replacement or some other fix. This week I am bogged down in Glenville with a big tree cutting and splitting job. Free wood. It's going to take a while but I have to get ready for next winter season now.

@@oviduran nothing wrong with that, Freewood is Goodwood! I am going to a job in Bleecker, in the next week or two. I am hoping to take home the wood from that job site. Unlike some jobsites, it won’t be free lol this guy drives a hard bargain! But if the price is right, it’s coming back with me. You know, I always like to have a lot of logs on hand! As I never know season to season if my job sites will be wooded.
