great vid> How do you lock a distributor in one Pacific position? LOL
@kmc468
@kmc468 11 дней назад
@@jayg3559 On this Pacific car there is a vacuum tube hooked. From. The bottom of your carburetor to the distributor as you throttle the vehicle, it turns the distributor with vacuum and advances it. You have to cut that tube from the distributor. That leads to the carburetor. Adjust your distributor to the best position. And tighten bolt Back down that holds the distributor in so it no longer advances by vacuum.

@@jayg3559 These straight 6 Chevy Motors. had vacuum Advance for the distributor. As you throttle it, the entire distributor turns with the vacuum. Advanced tube still connected. But if you leave it in the idle position when you throttle, it will backfire. It has to be in between fully advanced. An idle possestiming write in the center or it won't idle without the tube hooked up. And if it's not in the center, it'll backfire when you give it gas. If you get it in the correct position, it idle's great and throttles really well and you no longer need the vacuum advanced tube to turn the distributor to advance it when you press the gas. There In other words, locking out the distributor in one position.Where it no longer advances or devances upon throttling

@@jayg3559 I just posted a video on my channel as a short.If you check it out , it explains what I meant by locking the Distributor out in one position. Hope this answers your question. So you understood what I was talking about Sorry for any inconvenience and Misunderstandment if you didn't know what I meant.

@@Darren...son4634 I personally have never messed with Toyota stuff. Only General motors. And a little bit of Ford. Holly or edelbrock Or Carter. Carburetors I don't know much about Toyota. I'm not gonna try to even steer you the wrong direction. I have no clue.

It could be your timing or mine.Had a similar problem.When I originally got the car the Main jet was too small lack of fuel

On mine, I cut the air vacuum advance from the carburetor and plugged it at the carburetor I set. The distributor timing in one position permanently. Then I put a bigger main jet for fuel in it. And started to play with the distributor setting where it was at and the air screw till it become perfect and I could nail it. If it is. In line 235 straight 6.With this Carburetor. Them are the things you'll have to do To dial it in. This will be the start point What I did you can do. They are finicky. Even mine, unless the car is fully warm. They don't really like being nailed with a single barrel and tell it starts to warm for about 15 minutes, then you're good. And you can start to make your adjustments you need to. To be able to nail into it without issues

Look on the very front of the Carburetor It is stamped on the portion that turns to metal. On the front in between the 2 bolts that hold it to the intake. If you clean up that front lower portion , you should see a number. That is the only one I have.

Where does the heat line connect too? The block?
@kmc468
@kmc468 6 месяцев назад
@@ralphraptor660 There is a little Square metal piece with a hole in it setting directly on the manifold. It slips through that hole goes straight up to the carb.
