That was great Malc - engine oil and water had not leaked and Barney started at first attempt after sitting for a while. Hope for a good summer for you so you can enjoy, work away and drive to various events or just for the fun of driving.
Good to hear you're home safe. Since then, with the rebuild she's always started well. With the change of engine oil and filter, oil pressure is now per book i.e. 70lb cold, 35lb hot.
Only got her last July Tom, might like to look back to my few videos I got last year. No work yet, but hope to get a tiny bit of ploughing next Month, and it is tiny, but enough for a video. First show is Carrington end of May. But a nice 30 mile road trip each way :)
Thanks Chris. Hope to get the main job of the oil change in the next few weeks, but I can move it to easier access in a few days so do an out n about video on a nice day eh! Rest of the work is just tinkering.
Cheers Phil. Hopefully lots to do with her this year. Mind you I've just seen of a fairly local tractor run....but it's £15 entry. Nearly everything I do is free, or very little so won't be doing that. But I've lot's to do, some work, like changing the oil. You can see why that has to be done. A tiny bit of ploughing, runs out etc. Before Carrington at the end of May.
£15 entry sounds a lot for a tractor run! I won't generally pay entry to exhibit engines for the weekend, it costs a fair bit by the time you've bought fuel, food, gas etc.. Just finished doing all my oil changes on the Landy, nearly 20 litres of waste oil in all, should see it through the season all being well.
We were talking about this today.....might? be for insurance. However it'd be an expensive day so....Rand show was £5 a vehicle, however Malc got us a deal for 3 for that...I was happy to pay that for them as well, given the help he's given me. Others were free. Yes oil changes should only need doing once a year at most. Not changing my engine oil as previous owner had done it....It's nice and black and slippery. Diesel car engines, lots of oil changes and thrash them, last forever. Used to do my every 6 thousand. Later did it at recommended 10 thousand, but now only do about 6000 a year so once a year plenty.
The Landy needs the engine oil at 2k in winter, 3k in summer. The transmission every 6k. That's half the recomended intervals but worth it after all the overhaul work.
The little use she got last year has definitely improved her. First short trip next week hopefully. Got to try some camera tests, mounts etc. Will always be jumpy but not much I can do about that.
started real fine and rights real good may be just a glitch but looked like the was dripping need the fuel sight glass area and sight glass looked a bit loose but i may be wrong
Started great, very pleased. Need to check everything before using it much. Despite having a newer engine, it's still over 50 years old so bound to weep a bit from a place or two.
Unfortunately had problems shortly after....see playlist. However got everything sorted, had 3 good summers and she's now got a good home with a friend of mine.
