I appreciate all of the money spent and creativity but I would like it better unmodified. It would probably start too!

Yep I didn't get it started until the end of the video, and I was about to hand the keys back!

@@donatinghorsepower5100 Unfortunately I Stopped Watching At REGULAR SPEED After The First Two Minutes When The Car Wouldn't Start And The Speedometer Kept Jumping Around As It Was Cranked Over. Obviously Some Electrical Or Fuel Feed Problems There Indeed. Then Quickly Skimmed Through The Rest Of The Posting . The Outside Of The Car Looked Really GREAT, EXCEPT For That HANGING OUT Spare Tire And Extended Rear Bumper For It. Those ALWAYS Looked Stupid And Impractical To Me, If You Needed To Easily Get Into The Trunk. The Modern Engine Also Looked HORRIBLY Out Of Place I Think Chrysler Already HAD A Hemi V8 Out In The Early 1950's That Could Have Been Used, And Even A Regular OHV V8 Available In Plymouth That Year Too, Besides Their Tried And True Flathead 6. Infact One Of Those Later 50's 230 Flatties BOLTED PERFECTLY Into My 1938 Plymouth Coupe, And Up To The Bell Housing For The Transmission As Well. Giving The Old Coupe Some Decent Power To Push Along All That REALLY HEAVY Steel Quite Nicely... A TOO Overdone Car For Sale. Good Luck To The Next Owner...

It DID start. And that old Hy-Fire V8 was a wicked good, durable drivetrain. But would you luck out on parts and service for the HF had the car still had it? There's a downside to everything, I know, and you're sure to get reliability. AND.... it's a HEMI!!
@davidzdziarek-zl8cu

Besides which, from new given the Hy-Fire 8 literally cram-jammed the whole bay, they WERE a bear to work on.

I do owen the car now and it is still a nice driving car and pretty quick too. It's Got a lot of upgrades and cruise's very good. It is in Michigan now and turn's a lot of heads everywhere I take it. It is different and one of a kind but to each their own.

Nice! As the more tech and plastic and stuff gets built into the newer cars, I think I'm gonna keep my 95 Mustang for awhile since it's fairly simple to work on

It has been sitting for awhile; unfortunately the owner passed away and the wife had it up for sale. Also I imagine with restomod cars such as this one there will be issues here and there to address with the non-factory components

There may be carbon build up in the injectors having to do with it not budging a turnover that comes from the car having not run. With fuel injection, you have to devote time to driving your car.

I like the clean old car with original color paint. I like the modern drivetrain and how well the console fits. I don't like the choice of steering wheel or gauge cluster. Why would someone go to so much effort with this build and then tape wires together? The loud ticking in the motor may or may not go away. It's typical for motors not ran for awhile. Could be a deal breaker if not resolved.

Oh dang how I would crawl over broken glass to own this car! I have yet to get past any two door hardtop cars of this era and beauty. I'm a ford guy but would fall off of that wagon train to own this one.

I'm a younger guy (28) and I just love all of the 50s/60s/70s cars because I rarely see them on the road nowadays. My dad is a huge Chevy guy since he owned a 1970 Chevelle and my boss bleeds Ford blue from owning 60s Mustangs when he was a teenager haha. Thank you for checking out this video and I will be filming a 1974 AMC Matador X in the next few weeks so stay tuned.

@@donatinghorsepower5100 BOY, You Really ARE A Youngster Indeed. My YOUNGEST Son Is 6-Years OLDER Than You, But At Least You Appreciate Classic American Cars. My Own Interest Is Primarily For The Era Cars From The Early 30's To The Mid 60's, When The First Muscle Cars Came Out. After That, They Began To Look Like Large, Square, Boring Land Yachts.

@@davemckolanis4683 That's right, I BARELY was born in the 20th century haha and only just recently started getting my first gray hairs but I do appreciate the CLASSICS. I don't know much about the 30s-50s cars but I always like to learn about them. I have a book on some of the 60s cars, and do research on them in my free time.

From what I understand, this project took many years and there were breaks in between working on it. And certain parts of the project were each done by different shops, so unfortunately one highly skilled individual or group did not work on the project from start to finish.

If you are going too do a review, prepare for it. Won't start, don't know about engine, specs, etc. Might as well drag a kid out of high school and have him check to see if it has a place to plug in his phone.
@donatinghorsepower5100
@donatinghorsepower5100 Год назад
Sound advice. I will do that for my upcoming 1974 AMC Matador X review. However, in this instance, the car could have been sold at any hour when I realized the opportunity to review it, and in fact it sold a day or 2 after I reviewed it if I recall correctly. Anyways, I accept the constructive criticism. And kids these days will look for a place to plug their phone in as a Step 1 if you throw them into the real world so I guess we are agreeing?
