I put 250 hrs in 3 years in a '56 Piper Tri Pacer I owned. Vortex generators and Madras Tips . A wonderful airplane. I now own and fly a Wittman Tailwind W8 with a W10 wing that I am very proud and honored to own but N5828D will always hold a very special place in my heart. This video sets THE STANDARD for Aviator videos. Beautiful airplane and superb airmanship. The side slip was gorgeous. Only an Aviator can do that. Doran Jaffas N625MS Ionia, Michigan.

Doran, I bought this aircraft in 1986 as a tripacer and flew it 12 years that way. Wonderful airplane. When I restored it I converted to a Pacer, wanted the taildrager version. Now kind of wish I had left it as a tri-gear and simply bought a tail drager to fly instead. I own a Cub and Champ but still miss the Pacer. Was my first aircraft love.

What a drop dead gorgeous, beautiful, piece of Piper craftsmanship!!,Would loved to have flown in one of these darlings! I, and the family flew from NYC/LaGuardia in a '54 Tri-Pacer a gentleman loaned my Dad(an experienced corporate pilot) to fly down here to Phil's. Miss to visit his relatives/friends. Had to pull us out of school; it was October, the only time Dad could get a vacation from Doubleday, whom he was flying for, in a Beech D-18S!! The Tri-Pacer was an interesting airplane, 105-110 mph, cruising..Never forgot that experience. You're a lucky man with that gorgeous Pacer!! Love the color scheme. Bet it flys as beautiful as it looks!!#

Super clean looking PA20. I love the wheel pants that's one thing I wish mine had. Glad to see more shortwings on the RU-vid love the classics. My PA22 was recovered in 03 by the Stewarts and seeing something freshly done is nice
@markpi20

Thanks Glenn. I bought the wheel pants back when it was a Tri-Pacer (yes, nose wheel pant too). These are the original bulky style, which I liked. Finally got them mounted when I converted to a Pacer. I love Stewart Systems process. I recover and paint in my basement right next to my furnace and water heater. Back in the old days I would have to turn-off the furnace and water heater (plus the pilot lights) then run my wife out of the house from the fumes drifting upstairs. I have a wonderful wife, has always been supportive, together nearly 43 years now.

I own a 1957 PA-22 with an O-320. It is ugly but mechanically sound and a fun flier. I have had multiple people tell me that this isn't my, "forever airplane," but those people don't know how simple I am. Not simple in a dumb way, but simple in terms of what I am looking for from an airplane. 4 place, good cruise, good fuel burn and an affordable airplane. What more could I want living in the mid-Atlantic region? I look forward to recovering my airplane and restoring it to the grandeur that it deserves.

Thanks Jeff. Yes, I knew the plane very well. Bought it back in '83 as a Tri-Pacer, flew if for over 12 years then restored and converted it to a Pacer (Univar) in '96. This 'ol girl took me many places and I got very comfortable, but still respectful of her. I'm on an 1,800' strip and had to watch approach airspeed & altitude pretty close. I have a Piper L-4 and 7AC Champ now (low & slow), but still miss the Pacer.

It really looks sharp and flies nice. It reminds me of my Dad's Stinson 108-1. It's the same color scheme. To be honest, I prefer these planes to the more modern ones. We flew into the Mexico, MO airport on a 'hamburger run'. It had a restaurant next to the airport. I haven't been there in years and would like to visit the Zenith hangar someday.

Nice 3-pointers. Reminds me of my Cessna 140 days when still a student. Never touched a taildragger again after I got my Private SEL. Hard to believe you now have to have a special endorsement to fly a taildragger. Haven't flown in 40 years and things have really changed. Did night cross-countries back then and I think you need an endorsement for that now.
@mikeeubank246
