I have a gibson j200 standard and also a sigma j200 (an 8 year old one with rosewood fretboard, they use micarta for the board and the bridge, imho i think the new ones don't sound as good), my gibson is my prized possesion❤, but the sigma is so close to it!! pound for pound they cannot compare! i was completely put off this and the new epiphone j45 because of that horrible satin finish on them, what you've done looks fantastic!! i think i might be getting a couple of new geets very soon! 😍
How much of the meguires bottle was used in total? Thanks for this video it's inspired me to try. Excellent visuals. How many coats did you apply? Thanks!!
I honestly hate the Epiphone headstock and I don’t under stand why they don’t do what Fender does and use the same design for Squier. I love how they did the original Gibson headstock on this and I might pick this up because of that
Very nice job 👍🏼👏🏼 But i will stay with the mate finishing on my 1957 IGC SJ-200 and also the original tuners. I have the Grover's on my Gibson J-45 Standard and I find it a bit chunky 🤷🏼♂️ I like your videos very much 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼
Thank’s for the video. Very interresting. I've never done this kind of thing before. Not being talented, I certainly think of calling on a luthier to make it glossy as you did. Especially with a guitar for $1,500. Do you know more or less how much it would cost by going through a luthier?
Hey Paul! Great Video! Can I ask that you do a breakdown on the strings that Paul Used on all of his basses in the Beatles? I’m a Bass player and I’m trying to figure out which strings he used for each era, specifically for the Hofner, during the paperback writer. If you could help me out with that, it would be a big help, thanks!
Through a guy that knew a guy that knew another guy hahahaha. I wish they were a bit closer to the vintage ones but they look damn close. Unfortunately I was only able to get those 2. And I think that was about 8 years ago now
That is a great question! Unfortunately there isn’t many photos of it that are quality. I’ll have to rewatch the movie and see if I can pick it up from there
