So glad to see you getting my grandfathers bike up and running. This was the first time I got to hear it run and im excited to see you out on the road with it where it belongs!
It’s a super cool bike and it’s been a pleasure to work on. I tried to send you a video when we first started it but your number didn’t work. Glad you found the video, thanks again
Ha! What a coincidence. I'll be doing the exact same thing to my '57 in a week or so. Hasn't run in 30 years or more. Yours looks much better than mine. Except.... does that front fender tag say "Duo-Glide"? In '57 they were "Hydra-Glide". Duo-Glide started in '58. Either the tag or the whole fender is from a later bike. I'd be proud to own it as is. Good job, Lads!
@@henryiswynn2756 Yes. Your bike is a 1957. Last year of the hard tail and the tank badges are red, gold and chrome. In '58 the tank badges were Black, gold and chrome. I was just pointing out that the front fender has a "Duo Glide" fender tag on it (6:52).... In 1957 the bike was called a "Hydro Glide" (hydraulic front suspension only). Duo Glide started in 1958 which had the hydraulic front suspension AND the new hydraulic rear shocks.
My Dad had a 1960..same color except it had a white seat and white grips. White leather bag on the windshield. It was a beautiful bike, he loved it. This was in 1970s.
