A friend asked me to update some details on his previously restored 1957 Golden Hawk in preparation for judging at a club national meet. The engine compartment was detailed, the trunk was repainted and more.
Sorry, no sound or video. Just still photos I took to show my friend progress as I worked on the car.

Looks incredible. It gives me hope seeing how well you were able to refurbish all those components under the hood without disassembling everything. Had to be some tight spots to sand and spray, but it looks great.

Thanks! Yes, it was tight to get at some areas. I didn't want to tear the whole thing apart but the paint needed a refresh. I did this work about a year and a half ago and my friend has been driving the car a lot since. All the paint work has held up nicely. Using high temp primer really helps. I just stumbled across the pictures and decided to throw them on RU-vid. Thanks for watching and commenting!

@@neilloughlin7080 Great information I'll definitely use on mine. Did the paints you used have a hardener/catalyst?

@@michaeljohnson5108 the primer is spray can from a Napa store and us rated for high temp. I think it was 1200 deg f. The turquoise paint is from Studebaker International. It is a spray but is also available in a quart can. I've used both and neither uses a catalyst. Hope this helps!
