A 430-cubic-inch V8 engine and a three-tone interior. Concave fender sculpting and canted quad headlights. 19 feet long. We'll never see cars this fabulous again.

I've always loved this car...wish I was wealthy, 'cause I sure would buy it! What a beauty she is and I like the way the top hides away in the trunk. Ford also used that same top on their four-passenger ThunderBirds! Always gave those cars such a sleek look. Thank you for uploading and sharing this fabulous automobile!!

I was born in 1959. If I ever get the chance to buy my dream car it will be a 1958,59 or 60 one of these. I love how the convertible top operates. Power windwings as well. Love the "Turnpike" rear window. Just magnificent!!! Thank you for sharing this one with us.

The only Lincoln my dad got. All the other years he got Cadillacs. The convertible going in the trunk was very cool

I was in high school when this was new. It is better design than the cars available now. Simply beautiful.

I look at the '57 Continental and then I look at the '58 and I think, "What the hell happened?"
@packard5682

Very nice car! The original convertible tops had a gold Continental star embossed on each of the sail panels just behind the quarter windows. The 58's are the best looking of the 3 years but they had a lot of teething problems. I had a 58 Premier that was built late in the 1958 model run and it had several running changes to the body that weren't on the early ones including 'cocktail shakers', which were harmonic vibration absorbers that were added to each corner front and rear and then there was a large steel plate that was bolted on under the car in the center rear just ahead of the rear axle which helped strengthen the body at that area. The 1960 Lincoln was the most refined and they got everything right as far as the body and mechanics but it isn't the best looking.

@slicksnewonenow 5 лет назад
Completely agree! The 58's were the sharpest... And I've only seen ONE ragtop that was ALL original, with the gold Connie Star on each side- there was one identical to the one in the video, in a car museum in Conroe, Texas. That particular car only had about 200 actual miles on it, as I remember. But that was about 30 or so years ago. They certainly are BEASTS!

When I see these old cars I often wonder who originally owned them and what did the house look like that these cars were parked in front of.

Don't like the color combination of the interior Specifically the seats. They have a low rent look about them. Otherwise the car is beautiful.

I remember seeing a Continental convertible of the same vintage in an episode of Alfred Hitchcock presents. Steve McQueen and Peter Lorrie were involved in a game with a cigarette lighter. The stake was McQueen's pinkie versus Lorri's Lincoln. It actually belonged to the character's sister.

It hurts me to see that he is not interested how the engine is running. Is he not interested in how to use old engines ? I think this engine idle is 1000 RPM. This is too mutch !

It's not at all stupid to want A/C in a convertible if you live in a hot climate. Sometimes it gets too hot to put the top down.

wrong color, and we do not see much of the car, just a dull driver who does not seem to apreciate the ride that much, and he better should. they will never make luxury cars like thi sanymore
