It absolutely should add life because these sound dubs are from a 1958 record recording of 175 in "Fast Freight on the Nickel Plate." The sound may be dubbed but they are in fact dubs of this locomotive.

I'm on some Nickel Plate Facebook pages and asked what the L1s sounded like so I could choose the closest to accurate whistle I could find for one of my three, brass, ho scale L1s. I was emailed a remastered sound file and I'm going to sample the whistle and have it programmed into an ESU LokSound decoder.
