Let's get it Running & Driving! This isn't a "Will It Run?" Video. This is a "It Will Run!" Video. They ALL "will" run Folks, Whether or not that happens is entirely up to you. So let's take this old 1959 Chevy Apache V8, Napco 4x4 that Jamie and I Rescued from a pasture in Montana and make it happen.
In the last episode I started out by putting a rare Fleetside Bed on it and a full set of correct wheels with Beauty Rings and Stock Hubcaps. That's not where most people would start on a Classic Truck Restoration, but This build is going to be a little different all the way.

Hey Rick.. Something so satisfying about seeing an old truck coughing back to life and moving around under its own power. My favorite are the 55-6 GMC's because of all the chrome on the grill, but the Dual Headlight style of the 58-9 trucks has really grown on me. Thanks Terry. God Bless.

Love that truck, I had a 1 ton stake side flat bed 4x4, USFS retired I rescued at auction for $150 years ago. Off road camping and kids motorcycle got to places where others couldn't and the kids still remember those good times as places. Inspector doing quality check and daddy protection is always good to see. Hi Jamie ✌️♥️😎

That truck is pretty good all things considered. I like it is sweet. In most vehices you can order new replacement floors why dont you order some and weld them in? A harbor frieght mig welder anyone can spot weld. I see little china girls doing it. If you can build a building and fix motors you can weld. Pop rivets work but welding will give it the strength it needs. Napco runs awesome.

Leave the patina fox the bed swap cab small block Chevy install with 4 speed. Add alt 10si and flip for 25k. Next. Year....

Just before you said the air cleaner looked original I was thinking the same thing. The carb is a WCFB Carter and they were stock on the 283 and 327 through 1966. I've seen stuff in worse shape put back together, but since you have the good parts on hand, I agree swapping a big window cab is the way to go. Looking forward to seeing this one added to your fleet of running trucks.

Like I said in my last comment "if it turns over it'll start" good old 283 Now you need to put some "stop juice" in it and bolts in the bed. Motor sounds good and its a chevy so it will always smoke on start up. just like Homer did. Upper end oiling on start up. PEACE AND LOVE FROM MINNESOTA......BARRY✌

You DID say that Barry. The clutch pedal binding on the floorboard is actually more concerning to me than the brakes right now, but I'll make sure I address both issues promptly.....after I dress it up a little more....I'm having fun with this one.

Rick if you do use this truck around the ranch please use a step side bed for it and don’t ruin a piece of unobtainable beds for it I’m begging you please 🙏!!!! If so, that truck deserves those, along with chrome hub caps and a chrome grill - to go with that chrome bumper. Although the way GM sent it out the door, nearly sixty years ago, is perfectly acceptable too...

If you were to putt that legally on the road with some antique licenses plates while it need be government inspections. Here in Maryland we dont need inspections for 25 years or older ,thanks for sharing. God bless yall real good. Love me some old chevy trucks still burning gasoline.

Fortunately, Here in Oregon we don't have inspections for any vehicles built before 1974. We don't actually have "Inspections" required for any vehicles, but the ones built after 1974 have to pass emissions testing. Hopefully some politician won't get bored and decide to screw that up to justify their position. God Bless you as well my Friend.

Ya Rick that good old gear wine is definitely really nice and also back when they used to make real trucks also buddy!!! For sure!!! Here in Iowa you just don’t see any Napco 4x4 trucks because of all the road salt over the years has definitely deteriorated all of them!!! I’d definitely love to find an Napco 4x4 truck myself to restore and work on also but like I said we just don’t have any around here or very very few!!!

That massive amt of scratches right below the ignition switch, whoever drove this truck had huge wad of keys, that's probably what ruined the switch.

That's probably right. Most people don't realize heavy keychains ruin ignition switches, but they certainly do.

I'm not sure, but that being a regular cab, and not a deluxe cab....brakes might not have been an option on the regular cab Napco 4x4 for 1959....I think over the years someone has removed the "brake pedal delete plate".....Someone over the years has also added the drivers running board/ rocker panel air conditioning.....also not available from the factory. But great drive train and running gear. A great truck for the Ranch!!!

I wish you would quit referring to my property as a "Scrap Yard". We don't "Scrap" vehicles out here. This is a Ranch. On this Ranch we have Chickens, Ducks, a Horse and Cows. I know nothing about paint, but the "Sherwood Green" thing is a little odd. My mom bought a new '70 Skylark that was that color and it was a much darker, metallic green. That looks almost bluish-green. Either way, it is a good looking color. edit: that motor seems pretty tight. If someone cared enough to throw in the roof glass and the new fenders, I wonder if they freshened up the motor, too?

Sometimes different manufacturers or divisions will use the same name for a color and it will be quite different in appearance.

Yeah really CHEK the wiring on floor and see if good at connector,,for 10 bucks cheep insurance that's one on floor you stomp on to change..light switches and bulbs suspect too. Have gune. ..where is tre. Truck inspector?😊😊
