If there were more Noahs' in this country; we'd be far better off. The way he works and the way he listens shows more man than boy. Good job, Noah!

You might want to try OVEN CLEANER. I t works very well and usually doesn't damage the under paint if you just leave it on a few minutes. Good luck.

Just watching your video's will one day inspire me to fix-up my Wartburg 312 with schiebedach from 1964. But I'm self employed and working over 60 hours a week 6 days a week. So mabybe This year I may find some time to try to start that motor back up for the first time in 25 years (my oldest daughter just went 27). Just have to clean the carb. because it is a 2-stroke and I didn't drown it when I put the car away. But thank you for the nice video's about getting cars back on the road and not make them new.

Jonathan I love when you do these kind of projects. They were quality cars back in the day. I hope somebody steps up and takes the project the rest of the way. The car certainly was worth saving.

I would buy it if I could afford it and it wasn't already sold 2 yrs. ago! Where do you find the dates of these videos ? I really love the car but I'm guessing it was sold months or yrs. ago. I hope I'm wrong because I have some money saved and believe it or not, I've been looking just for one of these. Thomad

Wouldn't have expected pans that clean in anything back there. Its fairly clean for sure. Good luck with it, I had a cousin with a 57 Fairlane in pink and white, same sort of interior paint. Classy looking car.

Not a Ford dude but I like all the classics. Hopefully when you sell this one it'll go to someone that'll take care of her. She looks like a keeper. Nearly 60 year old car that can still be a daily...pretty damn good.

Meant to write you earlier. We bought a Toyota pick up that was stolen and recovered in Los Angeles. The truck was covered in graffiti. We used Brake Cleaner to remove the spray paint. It did not touch the clear coat or the original paint. Used rubbing compound after that and a good wax job. The paint looks great. Brake cleaner reacts similar the paint stripper you are using. Wal Mart brake cleaner is pretty cheap.

I'd say you are in the yard of a straight razor cut in effort/ability. This '59 deserves effort and not a lot of ability. Hope this car gets some more miles added and more appreciation.

So it was originally Geranium and Colonial White. I can't believe that they painted the interior. That floor is incredible. 57-59 Ford floors rust like crazy.

I love this old stuff. I do it for a living. Me and my dad are doing this same thing on an old 48 Chevy. 1 ton he has. Basically for now making it mechanically sound so he can putt around in it in his retirement.

Glad you didn't use air on the brakes due to asbestos. Back in the day Many of us used plain old warm water and dish soap to clean up brake dust before rebuilding the brakes. I too had a 59 ford Galaxy. not a fairlane. I sure loved that old pink panther.

Jon I bet once you get the black off of those metal parts you can polish the pink enamel either by hand, or get an auto buffer/polisher from Harbor Freight and use some light compound on a cutting pad with the buffer set on low speed (around 500 rpm) and it should not only get the rest of the lighter black paint off, but polish the enamel and make it shine again. Then, after you cut it with compound, you can put on a polishing pad and use some Maguire's polish to make it really shine. The important part would be to go slowly and take your time or you'll burn the original paint.

He's selling it. He's making it a solid runner with a few add ons like replacing the carpet to increase the sell value. I don't think he plans to go that far with the recommission process. I might be wrong.

Those wheels of that Lincoln would sure be an upgrade on the old fifty nine, shouldn't say old cause it was the year I was born lol .
@1969richiej
@1969richiej 5 лет назад
I totally agree with this comment, keep the original wheels and tires to put on once it's all good as new, especially since you don't have all 4 hub caps do you? The engine is not original, but can be backdated/retrofited with the addition of some original engine trim, hardware/headcovers/air cleaner and so on... But as a daily driver those Marquis wheels ( minus the Merc. center caps, maybe replaced with ford ovals ) Would look great on that Fairlane, and might slightly lower it for a mild custom stance, especially if it goes back to the original geranium color ! LOL ! As long as they fit the hub and bolt spacing...

I "restored" faded but otherwise good seats in a boat using acetone and CLEAN rag. It seemed to melt the vinyl surface, remove the chalking,and restore the color to almost new. Was not sticky when done. Try it first in a hidden spot to be sure on this car.

Car is looking great. Hoping the ride will do the boat justice. Loved the old school mounting trick (I'm sure some will freak). We used "drip" gas out at the ranch, never had a problem getting a bead to set. Have you thought about making a door or two out of the tobacco barn wood at the house? should be near time to move in. Have a happy and healthy New Year.
