Ah, hometown childhood memories of my neighborhood with Mr. Fox lovingly detailing his black ‘59 Ford Galaxy in his driveway every weekend. You could see that old Ford shining a block away! Thanks for the pleasant recollection.

My dad had a 54 Ford - teal and white - V8 - he put glass packs on it. Traded it for a brand new 59 Galaxy - black - four door - no skirts, but he ...put....glass packs on it. That was the end of his four wheeled childhood. Next up was a 62 Buick Le Sabre 401. My brother buried the speedometer needle at something north of 120, it stuck there. Fifteen years later I dug a 55 F100 out of a guys barn. It had a vacuum valve tapped into the manifold for a remote milking machine set-up. I did a body off resto. Minty - til stolen. Keep up the great vids! Brings back some busted knuckles.

OK folks, lighten up on Jonathan, a guy CANNOT have too many Nifty Fifty Fords (or anything with a motor for that matter)! Loving this series of finds, brings back memories of my folks 55 and 57 Fords they bought new when I was in school and my 55 Crown Victoria I had when I was in the Army 70-72. Great nostalgia on here! Keep'em rolling Jonathan!

Tony Shade Some people don’t realize how much psi is delivered to a wheel cylinder if you slam on the brakes or just moderate to heavy braking. If that bleeder screw Had a .010 hole in it you could come close to plasma cutting aluminum

I’ve been nuts about cars all my life... this one was built when I was three years old and first noticing cars, so my first impressions were of cars like this. So to this day I have good feelings about 50s cars. They were the cars of my childhood. Best of luck with this one, Jonathan. I bet it could tell some stories! Looking forward to the first start...

ANOTHER '59 Ford ? -Excellent ! The 4-door is just as cool and In my mind, such a handsome looking car. And I think it's better to have plenty of cars if you can, especially when they are classic cars. Not everyone has the space and time etc. Thanks for showing this one too. Nice.

I like this '59 Galaxie better than your other one. This one reminds me of the '58 Ford Fairlane I had in 1977. Same color and trim package. It had a 312 Police Interceptor in it, with factory dual exhausts, and when you mashed it and that 4-BBL opened up it would set you back in the seat. A co-worker sold it to me for only $150. It was almost flawless. The interior was like new, and the body was clean. I was only 19 years old then (same age as the car), and didn't have a clue as to what I had, and like a dummy I sold it for cheap ($150 if I remember right) to my cousin's brother-in-law when it started acting up, and now I know all it needed was a carb rebuild. I sure do regret letting that one go, and wish I still had it.

Definitely a 50'er. looks better from afar.. That certainly isn't the original engine because the original V8 for that car was a 352, a much wider engine. You mentioned a Ford 260 and that brought back memories of my brother '63 Ford Falcon with a 260 in it. Ran like a rabbit but he couldn't drive through town without getting a ticket. My mother, not believing him took it to work the next day. She got the same ticket. You see he had mounted two thrush glass packs without any tail pipes for exhaust and that thing was so loud you couldn't even hear yourself think. Every ticket was for the same thing...noise.

My first car was a 1966 Buick Skylark 2 door post. I had tons of people over the 11 years I owned it, try to buy it off me, but I only paid $100 for the car and drove that thing for 269 miles over the 72K it had on it when I bought it and I drove it coast to coast a number of times while I was in the Navy. Loved that car and sore I'd be the last owner, and I was. I pulled the 225 odd fire V6 (later became the Jeep Dauntless V6), put it in a 1972 Vega GT along with the two speed that was in the Buick and put another 25K miles on it before my then Girlfriend blew it up. Sold the car to a salvage yard that removed the doors and B pillars to convert another car to a post then watched them flatten it out. They gave me $300 for a car I paid $100 for and got my use out of for 11 years and I made money in the end. I only paid $125 for the Vega back in 1991 then sold the Vega in 1994 for $1200 with no engine to a kid wanting to throw a built 383 chevy small block in it and make a bracket car out of it. Good times! Cheers Jonathan! Zip~

When I was a teenager, I bought a black '59 Galaxie 2 door from someone my folks knew for only $50. It had been t-boned on the passenger side, but it still ran like a bat out of Hades. I planned to transplant the running gear into a Ford with a bad engine or trans if I could find one cheaply enough, but I couldn't, so I sold it for twice what I paid for it. Had a lot of fun driving it to high school for a few days. Kept getting questions like, "Did that just happen?". I would tell them yeah, my passengers all died and I had a heckuva time cleaning up the blood and stuff. :)

Love that ride, Jonathan! Nice find! Engine looks to be mid-late 70s 351W. If it has electronic ignition, its after '74-75. Engine numbers are on block above starter. Check on the coil or intake for a silver steel tag which will tell year, etc. Looking forward to see this one fire up!!

Myself have used compression fittings on brake lines for emergency repairs. I had a 92 eldorado that I replaced every brake line on it and forgot that one had a compression fitting on it for like 5 years. I did replace the line but never had an issue with it. My favorite is when someone comes to me for brake issues and find a rubber fuel line i place of a rotted steel line.

If that's an old 351W it would have a different firing order to a 302W as I remember...I could be wrong but I remember old 351W cams being really hard to get so people used 302 cams with the longer stroke.

It was ok having a big white two door with two very young kids, but after my sister came along in '66, they had to do something, so they traded it in n a 67 Dodge Coronet. I was three at the time, can vaguely remember the windshield wipers swiping in from the corners.
