I love that statue very much, as does my grandmother. She was given a 8" version of it and she treasures it. It's just a man with a pure vision showing his creation the world, as the world comes to see his creation
The poor guy is probably rolling in his grave upon seeing the current state of his company. It's kinda hard for me not to feel bad for him despite his many flaws.
He was a chain smoker, he was a perfectionist that demanded perfection, he was stinting with verbal praise. Anything else you hear like racism, homophopia, or sexist is a myth !!1
@@robsherwood2909So being a chain smoker and demanding perfection are “flaws” that potentially negate his inherent goodness as a person? 🙄 After all, you didn’t protest that he had a lot of flaws, you listed them.
What a stupid comment. So what you’re saying is that because he had “many flaws”, that makes you resistant to having any soft feelings for him? Who the fuck doesn’t have many flaws? Oh wait, are you talking about all of the anti-Semitic and racist bullshit floating around about him? You’re a mindless drone. You believe any kind of bullshit the internet spits out at you.
His dad delivered newspapers. What are you talking about? Look at old pictures of Disney's parents. They definitely were dirt-poor. They also were "card-carrying" socialists, which were much more common at the beginning of the last century.
When Walt Disney moved to California in 1921 to join his older brother, Roy, who was in a sanitarium and fighting tuberculosis, the two moved in with their uncle who was living in a small bungalow on Kingswell Avenue. Disney came to L.A. to be a live-action film director, and the first films he made were "Alice in Cartoonland," or the "Alice Comedies," which were short-subject films that were shot in the uncle's garage and that featured a girl who played Alice. While other films blended animated characters with live-action footage, "Alice in Cartoonland" was the first to put a live-action character in an animated world. The very first physical plant of The Walt Disney Company was a small storefront that is located just about 100 feet west of the uncle's house on Kingswell Avenue.
I think Walter Disney was one of humanity’s most influential men that ever lived. Charlie Chaplin, Albert Einstein, and Walt Disney that think were some of mans most important men cause they left life long legacy behind that will continue to grow, prosper, and we regular people as well as our friends and family can experience their joys. Einstein left us his knowledges. Chaplin left us his charm. And Disney gave us the happiest place on earth.
"Well no, you have to appeal to the adult. The adults have the money, children don't have any money." Walt Disney. Just how Bob Chapek became Disney CEO... just how ...
Without this man I wouldn’t be able to visit Walt Disney World for the third time on vacation as I walked through the magic kingdom today thinking about him speaking to park guests if he was still alive in his suit and tie.Thank you Mr Walt Disney. If only you could see Disney world completed with the modern day technology, You still carry a important legacy.
You do need both parents and children for this product. As my Mom is a HUGE Disney Fan as well as my Grams. Mom beats Grams though. I Love Disney so myself. But nothing like Mom. My point the parents share Disney movies with child the kids either like it or they don't. My brother is not a big fan. But he does Love Disneyland.
The majority of parties visiting Disneyland, throughout its history, have contained no children. The majority of households subscribing to The Disney Channel when it was a premium service in the 1980's and early 1990's also contained no children. And, the majority of households that are Disney+ members contain no children.
He says right in this video that his stuff isn't for children. "I do not make films for children... or, at least, not primarily for children." "You're dead if you aim for kids." - Walt Disney
"I do not make films for children... or, at least, not primarily for children." "You're dead if you aim for kids." "We design the films to appeal to ourselves." "The adults have the money. .... children don't have any money." - Walt Disney
*Walt:* I can't remember all the others. Wow I'm a WB fan, but I must say Walt roasted them good back then by saying that. You could tell he trailed off on purpose and before he did he was about to say "Bugs Bunny."
I love how he said he wanted to appeal to the adults as well as the children I’ve enjoyed Disney my whole life and will continue until I go to my grave
I remember a dream i had when i was about 11it was the night before my family and i went to Disneyland and in my dream i was IN Disneyland where there was kids and families walking around laughter and smiles all around and then I heard Walt's voice from behind me saying "its wonderful isnt it" as i turned around and saw him he had a gentle smile on his face and i said "it sure is" and then i woke up probably the best dream i ever had...
I Feel so bad for Walt bcs he made this wonderfull company full of characters with alot of life and just innocence and now its honnestly just gone down hill since it was taken over 💔 😔
Walt Disney was probably the key to animals being able to have clothes ..if it wasn't for Disney I doubt dogs would be walking around with such cute little outfits ..he peoplolized animals and probably helped PetSmart sell their line .
@@markellhawthorne2921 Yes that's true. Most of my family smokes. Well the older people. My Mom is the only one that doesn't from her house hold. Her parents brother and sister all smoke. Grams tried to quit but got so mean Mom just went to store and bought her a pack of cigarettes.
Walt Disney relay to Paul's hardware re wood shop. I was thinking about Chrissie with her sister Laura remember she cues laurel tree over Daphne asking position out building family trees by Laurel with Apollos theme's
It’s a story as old as time, know what you’re working for. Doesn’t matter if you make something brilliant if it’ll end up in the wrong hands. The guy who made the AK made it to defend his country but now it’s used to also oppress people.
Gather around, I’ve got a story to tell. (Please accept my apologies if you thought I was going to follow that with “About a Manhattan lady that I know very well.”) A couple months ago, a baby African elephant-a boy-was born at the Louisville Zoo in Kentucky. A naming contest was held to name the little fellow. Lots of entries came in, and zookeepers narrowed the entries down to three. The winning name was Fitz. I gotta say, Fitz is a cute name. It *FITZ* him well! But as adorable a name as Fitz is, that’s not what I’m here to discuss. That’s not the-pardon my pun-elephant in the room. The other two names chosen for the final three? Oh, you’re going to love them. One was “Rocket”, after Rocket Raccoon, because a while back, there had been a baby bongo antelope-a boy, named Groot-born at the Louisville Zoo. The other was “Walt”. Yes, it was after Walt Disney. Oh my goodness. Oh my stars and garters. One thing I wonder is: why suggest the honor of naming this elephant after Mr. Disney? Did he have relatives at Disney’s Animal Kingdom? (I know who submitted that name for the contest-it was in a news article-but I won’t name them. I don’t want to embarrass them.) I love the name Fitz. Great name. Don’t get me wrong. Fitz he is, and Fitz he shall stay. But just the thought of someone saying “how about naming this elephant after Walt Disney?” is enough to get me all starry-eyed.
Walt Disney and the year 1959. In July that year Walt Disney visited Denmark and Copenhagen and especially Nordisk Film and Even more especially Nordisk Tegnefilm in Valby. At that time I worked there as cartonist, animator and storyboarder and therefore had the opportunity and great privileadge to meet and talk to "the King of Animated Cartoons". He was very kind and polite and praised my work as a storyboarder.and animator. Hopefully you understand that I grew some centimetre.
But the thing that we must all keep in mind: all of this started with a mouse, and without Walt or Mickey, none of Disney's movies, Disneyland, or the rest of the " empire" wouldn't have happened.
Maureen has by drake perhaps she was falsely accused by outsider's. But that cah tiller drawers may have fixed up family records by your studio your parents by huns and visigoths
