We had a 2dr sedan, 292 , std transmission and a neighbor had one just like yours only white. Solid old girls. Stop light to stoplight about even. Mechanically sold.

One of my Great Uncles had the 2 Door Sedan same year as this one I remember it when we would visit in the early 60's

Nice, especially for her age. If the 223 is good I'd leave her the way she is. One of my first cars was a '60 Starliner. My grandparents neighbors were an odd pair. He had his V8 converted F20 tractors and she had her '60 Starliner, 352/360hp, bland brown, duel straight pipes. She knew how to shift from low to drive then immediately back to low locking it in second gear, pipes cackling 1/3rd mile from her drive as she passed my grandparents house. From the time I was around seven I was taking notice of that car while at my grandparents. They were childless, very friendly to all us grandchildren, and my grandparents laughed about both of them going through their second childhood in their 70's. '73 they retired, having the farm sale, moving to town. I was seventeen, decided I was getting that car. I watched, not a single person at the auction gave that car a second glance-thirteen year old car with ugly oxidation brown paint. Auctioneer opened at $100, I bid $75, only bid made. I enjoyed the hell out of that Ford, was my loud, fairly decent runner, leave my street strip car at home transportation. Dates seemed to like it too-oddly.

In Canada, Ford Canada, had a Meteor Division, which was a cross between a Ford and Mercury.

Keep original Upgrades for reliability

Motor wise that’s a tough one. I like that it’s original but I can understand wanting a nice sounding v8 in there. Crazy idea you should throw an amr500 supercharger on it before you change it for kicks. Just to see what it does.

performance 6 cyc intake and carb, hei distributor duel exhaust header 2" pipes and some gears that six will surprise you! and save money and time.

The other day I started my mini ex and I heard a braapp noise I opened the hood to watch a mouse jump right into the fan… I can’t imagine why he would do that…😳🙄
