In "1960: LBJ vs. JFK vs. Nixon", award-winning presidential historian David Pietrusza crafted a revealing, electrifying portrait of the first modern-day presidential campaign, the epic battle between Senator John F. Kennedy and Vice President Richard Nixon. It was the first campaign to utilize the power of television, the first in which all fifty states would participate. More than that, it was the dawn of a bold new decade and the moment when America would select its first president born in the 20th century. With new insight and previously untold stories, Pietrusza characterizes the key participants, explores the grueling inner-party conflicts leading up to the nominating conventions, and eloquently contextualizes one of the closest races in presidential history.
Pietrusza joined Curator Stephen Fagin to discuss the 1960 election, the larger-than-life personalities at its center and the ways in which that important race helped shaped cross-country campaigning right up to the 2016 race for the White House. This special program kicked off The Sixth Floor Museum’s new exhibit, A Time for Greatness, about the 1960 election and the Kennedy campaign, which opens May 21. Neither JFK or Nixon had half of Lyndon Johnson's knowledge and ability as a legislator . LBJ knew everything there is to know about the details of that branch of the government and he knew how to get things done.

Radio listeners thought Nixon won debates; TV watchers thought JFK.

David Pietrusza must not sleep, he is a writing machine on American history. He also has a good vocal delivery for podcast narration when the subject matter is biography. Check out "10 American Presidents Podcast": (1)"Theodore Roosevelt" & (2)"Franklin D Roosevelt" episodes. These podcasts are produced as "Theatre Of The Mind"...radio. Very cinematic, with a cast to read On Air Radio reports, sound effects of trains in the distance etc. These podcasts are as long as feature movies, taking the necessary time to explain details of the life stories.

I'm thinking Nixon chose Lodge because of Lodge's connections to Ike. Lodge was Eisenhower's campaign manager. Lodge was so focused on Ike winning The Presidency in 1952, that he sacrificed his Senate seat to JFK. Then, when Lodge was given the UN Ambassadors post, Eisenhower decided to give Lodge a seat on The Cabinet. (This effectively gave The State Department a second seat in the Cabinet. Also, he was the only Cabinet Secretary who had more political experience than Nixon.) I wouldn't be suprised if Eisenhower preferred Lodge as Presidential nominee, but Nixon was the preferred man of the party.

Why was the entry on the upper right back of his head and the exit to the front of that, top right - extending from towards the back to almost the hairline? Like we see in the Z Film, autopsy photos / x-rays and doctors agreed with those.

@@stevenyourke7901 "the killing shot came from the front! - Shhh! You’re not supposed to know that!": the x-rays/photos and Z Film do not show that, so no. Sorry.
