Hi everyone! Sorry about the late upload; the usual chaos here, plus a flooding basement to help out, haha... This week it's time to get some more bits on the 1960 Plymouth Fury rebuild we're doing... Windshield mouldings are next in line, so we can start assembling the roof rail and associated trim. The rad is finished, and a bit of a fuel tank situation! Also: Lots of progress on the Citroen DS; hope you enjoy a condensed review of some of the project! Dean is back with another Greasy Flip, and we had some laughs off-roading the 41 Plymouth in the mud! . Thanks also to everyone who subscribed to our channel here, and thanks also for all of your "likes" and comments! If you would like to help keep our channel going, you can get a sticker, hat or a coffee mug at: www.coldwarmotors.com Or, please feel free to check out our Patreon page at : www.Patreon.com/coldwarmotors where we have extra videos and pictures and a bunch of people hanging out and bs-ing about cars!
Dean is possibly the worst used car salesman in the World due to actually being honest ;) "Ah, it's a worthless piece of crap that nobody wants, please buy it anyway!"
Better late than never!! Seriously you are the most authentic no bullshit automotive channel on RU-vid. Just telling it like it is and using your natural talent to turn shit to shine!! From a turd to a trophy winner! Without any CNC equipment or editing out the long hours. Just honest work done by a stand up guy.
Watching you build this breathtakingly gorgeous Plymouth, I never cease to be amazed that these cars were considered 'disposable' in their day and that most were crushed whole in the sixties. God loves this Fury. 😇
Great work on trim, car is really gorgeous. It was good to see Dean back to his shenanigans. You put out another great episode. I will never understand the dislikes.
Every time I see that fury it amazes me where it came from. It took many’s hours and skill to bring it to its current state. Well done one and all 👍👍✌️😎
Can't get enough of those Stainless Steel Trim ! Love you work, lots of precision and patience ! Been watching since day 1 of splice ! Love your work on the Fury !
******* Dean, I owned a '77 Mark V and drove it for 15 years until it caught fire in my driveway while warming up one frosty November morning. I never had any "real" trouble with it until that fateful morning. The rear window defroster shorted out and caught fire under the stuffed vinyl quarter roof. I was indoors and didn't come outside until I was ready to drive off to work. I came outside to see the whole rear of the car on fire. By the time the fire department showed up the car was too far gone to save. Before that fire, the only thing that went wrong with it was an A/C compressor that seized up. The car had racked up 148,000 miles so I really hadn't abused it. . Suggestion: Try and locate the Mag Wheels that came as an option and dump the steel wheels & Wheel covers.
Man that fury is gonna be a beauty. Dean buddy that thing is a boat good luck with the sale hi mini Frankers looking forward to the next installment from you and the agents cheers from Texas
Thank you for your videos , they have helped me a lot with my 60 Plymouth . I’m in Perth Australia , so extremely hard to find parts , unless from the states. Your videos are very informative . 👍Thanks
Just think in a few more years if Scott didn’t get the 60 there would of been nothing left to keep it alive, so thanks Scott, that’s what this show is keeping these Detroit masterpieces alive
Tedious work to be sure but done with the same attention to detail as the entire project. Great to see this level of perfection!. And now proud to be a CWM Patron !
.and remember; it's not meant to be perfect !! Imagine if it WAS !! 😁 Scott is so lucky to be blessed with patience *and* skills: I have endless patience, but missed out on the skills.😖
Great way to spend lunchtime in NZ watching chrome trim being applied in what was probably longer than it took them to build the entire car when it was new ;-) Car just keeps getting better. Shine straight from the gun, a skill on its own.
Dean has his signature Greazy Flips as opposed to Scott who has quite tidy flips, some so ultra tidy they actually lift up their skirts before traversing a deep puddle! Lol! Wunderbah!
I'm- Ha, yes! Like "Employee of the Month" he rotates favorite cars out of the elements into the shelter. I'd like to see that '59 Chevy under there at least once😝
Very interesting to watch the restoration of the Fury ! My car was ones restored white 3 cars . I figured it out when i found all the weldings and more. The floor and frame ,dash and some more parts are from a police-car .
I've been watching,, "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World". With all the old iron and big fin Molars I thought of you. BTW RU-vid is offering it free right now! 😁
Man......what a bummer about the tank. That's alright, you brought Dean in at just the right moment. Lol. "Other than the crippling anxiety, it's a fine machine."
funny when you think back when they had to install all the trim at the factory you would think they would be hard pressed to roll 1 car out before lunch time lol
Scott, the Fury is amazing after watching the splice. I never dreamed that it would would turn out this nice. I would be sick over that original gas tank. That wasn’t restoring it, that was murder. 👍☮️👊
Dean you have to be the most honest used car salesman I've EVER come across ... which must give your buyers great peace of mind ... but it has to be said being a little "too forthcoming" with any cars bad points doesn't always bode well for improving your annual turnover LOL
Ugh.....I hate letting anyone else touch anything on a car I'm building. If I screw something up at least I can only blame myself. 😂 It's good to hear that the guy is buying you a new tank though.
I hate to compare the choices in trimming and mouldings for the 1960 Plymouth Fury to other choices in life but; the way you went through the trimmings that had to be rejected was like going through the women (or men) that you had to look over to see what their failings, flaws and defects are and which ones you would in the end put up with. Even your final selection was no guarantee/waranty? that you could be truly happy with them. A lesson in life as we so often see here. Dean's Greasy Flip was another warning for the young or old and foolish. The DS is a labour of love. The 1941 Plymouth is one honey to love! Yeah, bring her in out of the elements, the poor thing! Thank you for the tour in your Gallery of Garage Gems.
Uncle had one of those Lincolns, only thing i remember he mentioned that it was a nightmare to keep running and he was a clark forklift mechanic. perfect for greasy flip. cars of the 50's and 60's were very agricultural, bits didn't line up perfect and that was ok. i admire you passion for making it better than factory.
Hey Scott-fun rain huh? Glad to see that Dean still tries, but he really needs a FUN car. Frankers likes chasing the Ball, rain or snow-good Dog!! The CS is a masterpiece of your Art...no, one really cannot miss a step or you lose all the others. Great Job on the FURY. They must had a worker on the line for each piece to keep up! Have GREAT week and Thanks for the FUN! Rich
Dean's Lincoln segment reminds me of a fellow I used to work with in high school. His name was Mark and he loved Mark V Continentals. He said they were the only American car that represented the American lifestyle. He weighed about 350 pounds which is probably why he didn't like Honda Civics. Despite not enjoying the Fury trim Scott you are really good at it!
Another winner, such a transformation on the Fury adding the trim, I wouldn't like to have to fit and align it on a moving production line. Deans "Greasy Flips" developing into a great segment. FYI a 79 mk5 Lincoln on sale at Gallery Aaldering in Holland for just under 27k Euros!
Man, I have to admit, the '60' Plymouth was not my favorite car body. But you have made it into a beautiful car once again. That trim work really amazed me. Nice work.a note from the 'ole geezer gear head".
You did what I hoped... I hoped that you would get back in the game. I heard it in your voice that your proud of your accomplishments and there are many. Saving jobs, giving strength to some who need it.... like Dean whos voice is now a man who talks like he is a man and I know this much, as a former drinker, I still am a alcoholic, just a dry one. The right push would put me back so many hard earned years of doing what I set out to. I see others who are demonstrating talents making all this a part of them too. I have been fooled before but I hope not now. Right down to the "same ol' shit" finish and the start of something we are as few and far between. Starting with a few guys who place you as a team leader. Great job Scott!!!!!
Dude, well worth the wait - great insight into CWM yard, Frankers is on a beat of her own as usual and Dean's Lincoln is a cool ride - if you can afford the gas : ).
That lincon looks like a proper Tyler Hoover special, like no wonder Dean's nearly sold it so many times, its a proper grade A pimp mobile, like you half expect the guy from Trouble man, Mr T, to pop out of it!
I hate to admit it, but I would totally buy that Mark V if it wasn't on the other side of the country. I had two of the blue Diamond Jubilee Editions. They were indeed the most expensive domestic automobile in 1978.
The grease sinking ship love your land Yacht must be fun to parkDon’t worry dean I’ve been there your Not alone I’ve done some impulse buying myself that I have regretted
