Nice job, luckily this car had all the important like pieces, grill, bumpers and hubcaps, and it’s rust was surface and had not rusted off the tabs or put holes in the metal
I must say that I’m not familiar with the Bonzo brand, but your restoration was great! Loved the colors! Very cool little toy brought back life. Thank you very much for sharing!
Great video and great job on that ranchero. I think a pastel color instead of the blue would have made it look period correct though. No criticizing though.it does look really good. I would be proud to have that sitting on my shelf
Now I'm learning how these toys were put together in the factory some are a little more complicated than others but they were quality toys and can be restored tonka toys are plastic now they found ways to create them at less expense but charge more them
To think that with today's standards of child safety back when I was a kid . This would have been outlawed before it hit the market . God how I miss the old days .
Van a restaurar la camioneta una Buick Bonzo de 1960; va a quedar bonita; soy José Rafael Grange Fuenmayor de Maracaibo Estado Zulia Venezuela; saludos.
I was very impressed until no effort was made to prime and wet sand to produce a smooth surface... and then using a metal screwdriver against freshly painted metal to bend the tabs in place... made my teeth hurt. Excellent job creating new windshield and rear window, though. Finally, the audio of whatever that noise was other than the work on the toy was very annoying and distracting.
Hello friend, the Bonzo brand toys were made with scraps from the manufacture of lard cans. For this reason they are extremely thin, which makes it difficult when sanding or straightening. I'm sorry for that. My camera's microphone had a problem. In the last videos it has already been corrected.
@@restorediy: Thank you for the thorough explanation of the limitations of the metal you were working with and the polite response to my critique. I will keep watching! Cheers, John
This may be a dumb question, but how do you get the powdered paint to stick to whatever it is you're painting, and what does cooking the thing do besides making it look all nice and shiny?
Who was the "Bonzo" who set those front wheels way too far back into the fender wells? Looks like they designed the thing wrong - wheelbase was too lang.
@Freddles279 thats awesome and if they weren't csr guys they wouldn't be here looking at an old toy restoration which is kinda what my hobby is but I do a smaller scale.
@@restorediy bacana cara! É muito bom que no Brasil tem profissionais no nível estrangeiro. Também faço restauração, da uma olhada no meu canal quando tiver um tempinho. 😉
@@restorediy Thank you! I really like your videos. I watch them at bedtime. Make me calm, not to mention that your work is amazing. Congratulations! 😊👏🏻👏🏻
I would have made the interior a different color, but nice job. As others have noted ... the sound effects are horrible - I suggest music or narration.
For the next video can you PLEASE ditch the ridiculous sound affects and go with some music or something? Or at least mix the 2. Your audio is headache inducing.
@@megs8654 The Prius is ranked the ugliest car ever by several groups that rank such things, and it doesn't matter what year. The Toyota CHR and Yaris are right in there too!
@@danieljohnson9351 i personally like prius 2010 and 2012. also toyota chr is pretty cool in my opinion. but look at tesla model 3. thats really ugly car. big nose with no grill. such a shame of design.
Tired of seeing powder coat it’s junk man up mix paint do it right so many videos people cheaping out show your skill don’t use filler solder instead metal on metal like common
