Who are your parents, this is Checker Flag Raceway that used to be here in Windsor, Ontario. Maybe 1963-64, it was 1/4 mile dirt oval. This is just AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you have any others???? THANKS!!!!!!!!!
Good job! Windsor makes sense. My father raced stock cars in Northern Ontario and visited relatives in Windsor. That's where he must have pulled out his super 8 camera.
Great videos > use to like to watch the king of the hill race . great times, guess back then people didn't have that many video cameras , but i seem to remember someone on Don Mallat's crew had a camera, but haven't seen any of those videos . > Stan Earish was quite the guy , Stan and Joe Holman were a great combo . Remember riding my bike by Holman's house on Askin and watching from the end of his driveway with my buddy Rick >it was a cool time .
The tow truck pulling car # 8 @ 2.26 in the video looks like the old Dingwall Ford tow truck.Where the mound of dirt is around the light pole is just like the one a Checker Flag in Windsor. That light pole was still there in the 80,s.
My local track (Hibbing MN) used to have a ramp where the cars would try and get up balanced on two wheels and see how far they could go. A guy named Pat Friend could take my friend Foont's 64 Fairlane station wagon and drive all the way around the track! The trick was to go drivers side down. (and Pat weighed about 350, which helped?)
I am just guessing, but there were dozens of race tracks in the eastern Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas area. I was hoping to be able to read something on a wrecker or car. quarter mile tracks with the pits outside of turn 2 limits it and being near houses narrows it down some more. I wish more people would view this. The only tracks I can think of that could possibly work were a track near Ft. Smith Ar. and another in Little Rock. How crazy was it rolling cars with open face helmets and no neck supports?
had to turn off that music to finish watching , now that i have i dont have to anymore ..... darn music ruined it .... some beach boys 409 would be better than hallalula or however its spelt . thanks for the cool vid
