The car looks great sitting in the background. I agree ; leave the exterior rough and natural looking. Repair the air conditioning. That drain makes me nervous that a few bolts will drop in. 😮. Your Aussie looks so interested. Aussie will always give a look of, What was that you said ?. Lol. My favorite companion. Well, I’m looking forward to what’s next. Keep it up. Very entertaining.

I used to use rubber gas lines over my rod bolts to protect the crankshaft

Good progress! I hope I'll never have to take my 390 apart! She still runs great!

Really hope this engine is save able, a lot better engine than the Northstar.

Great video. Nice to see what the inside of the engine looks like. Too bad you couldn't save it. I hope you let us know the cost to rebuild the engine. I'm sure rebuild prices have gone through the roof these days like everything else. Thanks.

Get your self a brass drift . Don't use a screw driver to push piston out. I see this trend to unstick it . Wasting vinegar and ever other chemical.

I shut music off when possible. Not necessary and annoying! But I'm 81 and have seen and heard it all. Carry on!

I totally agree the headache music distracts. Not needed. Otherwise a high potential learning video. Nice engine!

You should definitely send the block in to have it resurfaced and stuff or maybe get a 500 great work it's going to be awesome

I have had a 500 and a 472, I like my 390 better. It's more responsive and better with acceleration. The 500 and 472 can be built for racing but that's not what Cadillacs are for. My friend has a 69 Cadillac with a 472 that has a cam and fuel injection, and my completely stock 61 390 will take off faster.

I love watching your videos but I have to point out that rust is most definitely not iron ore. You could not change rust back into iron because the chemical structures are completely different!

Lol, yes, I did say it backward. Metal is made from iron ore. And rust is metal trying to return to iron ore. Basically, acting as the anode in a corrosion cell as the sacrificial piece. But you are correct.

thanks, I flipped the Mother father 365 over, and that damn rod fell out. WTH did that come from ?? F N cylinder head fought coming off to and so damn heavy. I have a 390 from a 62 going in...soon, I hope, it's in the garage. @@theholubproject3497

This mechanic does not know what a ridge reamer is!!!! You cannot get pistons out of an old block without cutting the ridge out of the top of the cylinders. 🎉🎉🎉

Doesn't anybody use a ridge reamer anymore?
