This is the 154th video on the 1961 VW Beetle with 65 pan. In this video I get the windshield washer system working with a new dash button switch and the two hoses needed. I fill up the reservoir with washer fluid and fix a leak in the valve. In the end it works! And the wipers “park” feature also works…

Thanks - this was tricky, and my reservoir valve didn’t hold - but with the extension everything seems to work well…

Sorry im late to the party,just got a beetle myself and its setup how yours originally was. so youre saying that the factory setup was the washer bottle and all the stuff to spray water but the switch/button in the car never had the push section ? Why did they do this ?

I initially put on the wrong button. I needed the black one with the push button and I had to learn how to hook it all up

Ya, you don't want to run fluid to that switch right above your radio. It was a poor design.

Doesn’t everyone with this type of windshield wiper switch run fluid up over their radio? I thought I was doing this just as VW had designed. It actually works surprisingly well and holds pressure longer than one would think…
