Very cool! I have a ‘66 bug also and have issues with wiper motor speed. Mine’s a single speed thats almost too slow to be useful. But, then again it’s not a daily driver. I just like things to be done right!
The back light? Are you revering to the back up lights or reverse light switch? If so, the switch is on the front of the transmission, at the top right side of the nose cone.
We hook up two different motors in the video, to explain how to hook up a single speed motor to a two speed switch. Then we hook up a 2 speed motor to the two speed switch.
Trying to hook up 12v emergency flasher switch and relay to my 64 van wiring, wiring has been converted from 6v to 12v but still has a 6v emergency flasher relay and switch. Not sure but I'm assuming the original 12v relay has been burnt out by 12v system. Help would be appreciated.
The switches aren't 6 or 12 volt, they just turn power on or off. Relays however are voltage specific and the 6 volt relay won't work with the 12 volt system. This may help out: www.jbugs.com/product/211953227B.html
Hello greetings from Venezuela I have a wiper motor and a selector like the one you show in the video, I would like to know how to connect the 5-contact relay, the terminals are S-15-31-53m-53s, thank you
We have never seen a wiper motor or a switch with an S terminal or the 53m or 53s terminals. 15 is keyed positive power, 31 is ground. S terminals on US spec VWs are for the momentary ground signal to switch the from low to high beams. 53m and 53s are most likely speed 1 and speed 2 but those are just guesses. You'll have to run some tests powering up the switch and seeing what turns on at what position and go from there.
